I have a Team Wendy bump helmet with a G24 Wilcox mount.  Pvs 14.  Do I need the Wilcox J arm (with the on/off switch) that moves the pvs14     3/4" closer to my eye or the standard J arm?  Thank you.

I don't have my PVS14 yet but I went with the standard j arm without the on/off switch.

Seems like most prefer the positioning with the on/off switch

A standard J arm uses a bayonet mount, it is not compatible with a dovetail mount like a G24.

I think he means the standard Wilcox j arm

I was able to try both and ended up preferring the curved arm of the switched version

I may not be wording the j arms correctly and apologize.  My question was it best to have the PVS- 14  3/4" closer to the eye offered by the j arm with the switch or no?  Thank you again.

There was a recent thread in the NV forum.  You aren't going to get a consensus.  Some like it close and others like it further away.

IMO, use this: WILCOX PVS-14 ARM W/ AUTO OFF SWITCH (TNVC#WLCX-PVS14ARM-OFF)

(Not "J-Arm.")

Tried the standard one first, too far from my eye. Ended up returning and going with the on/off version, all good now.

I have a Norotos mount with a MOD Armory dovetail j-arm, not a Wilcox, but I just wanted to mention that you'll also want to make sure everything clears the front rim of your helmet too, if you're wanting to get it as close to your eye as possible.  The Norotos mount offers enough adjustment (up/down, in/out) to get it just right for me.

To answer your question, I don't like the tube right up against my eye, personally.  It doesn't offer anything visually but makes me feel more like my head is inside a bucket.  ymmv
