Was "Thank you" just waaaay too complicated and triggering?

Never hear it.
Where I live, service workers often say “have a blessed day” and everyone else says thank you |
Never heard anyone say that.
But maybe nobody appreciates me at all? |
I say it to all of my training partners after rolling in bjj because I do appreciate their help in my improvement.
It seems much more genuine than a generic “thank you” |
Pretty common around here, by all types. I use it myself. It's like "thank you" with a cherry on top.

I have a black co worker that says it, he does not say it as one word.
I've only heard it on the TV show "American Pickers" when Mike lowballs some guy on an item that he'll flip for 10X what he paid for it.

Hannah Baron, and others, finish their videos with 'preciate y'all.
Lobbin’ it out there! 75 Bow Shot with no Pin |
My wife says it to her customers. I didn't know other people did that.
I sometimes say “thanks, I appreciate it!” I don’t say “I appreciate you” though.
Maybe somebody wanted to say they appreciate you?
I don’t think it’s replaced Thank You in the manner you suggest. |

"Oh my gosh girl I appreciate you"
is something the gf might to say to one of her gf's after being told about a slight wardrobe malfunction or having a item she left somewhere returned to her |

When it's personal or a special "out of the way" situation, it's commonly used to convey an acknowledgement of the departure from the norm. I always thought it was a Southern thing and it doesn't supplant "Thank you", but instead supplements. |

Please, thank you, yes sir, no sir, yes ma'am, no ma'am. Pretty simple things to remember. Or at least it was back in my day. If you deviated from those very simple and respectful responses, you found yourself on the deck PDQ.

Preciatcha is how I’ve been hearing it all my life. Must be a southern thing. If I really want to express thanks I’ll use both and not shorten it. “Thank you, I really appreciate it” |

I notice it from a very noticeable segment of society.
I call that segment, ghetto trash. All races of ghetto trash seem to love that phrase. |

Quoted: Was "Thank you" just waaaay too complicated and triggering? View Quote I hear it all the time these days. I tell people, they don't know me to appreciate me. It is a dumb statement of thanks and I will never say it. |
