I am old-fashioned (or at least practical) and a libertarian. I am glad it's all being made. Let the market decide, not Karen. I grew up with real yard darts and candy cigarettes, and kids were taught to respect adults. If you got your ass paddled at school, you got at least one ass-whipping when you got home - if not two.
I am knocking on the big half-century mark. People younger than me are basically taught what to like and not to like. It's sad. I am not a big cowboy/western/country music fan but I sure do appreciate the freedom and self-reliance that were once the tenets of American society that made all three of those popular. |

I was driving behind a new(ish) Escalade not long ago and was shocked to see what looked like a solid rear axle.
On a $100,000 vehicle. |

Quoted: For me. Cadillac. Things have just never been right for them since the Cimarron disaster. 30 plus years of expensive ugh. View Quote Things change in 33 years. Just like the popularity of today's Mustang has NOT been tarnished by MustangII of the 1970's. Wife bought a Cadillac SRX new in 2014. 64k comfy miles on it, rides great, neat electronics, and works well. Looks just like the newer XT series. Can fetch 18K resale today. |

cigs, calculators or any other thing you can easily do with a smartphone, 1911s
im not surprised we have paper books still, but i am very surprised how many people won't switch to digital. we'll always have some paperbacks but i would have thought with the advent of ereads that we'd have 90%+ less than exist today. with the advent of the paperwhite, a 4-6 week battery life reading a couple hours a day and none of the annoying blue light or eye strain i'm really not sure why it hasn't caught on more. |

Quoted: Cigarettes, the only highly addictive thing you can freely buy and all you have to do is visit Hadji at the 7-Eleven. (I know, vapes too) But they do keep Big Pharma chugging along with 20K-per-dose lung tumor medications so Pfizer is happy again. No, but it’s entirely possible someone that wasn’t around when it happened could be far more knowledgeable than someone that was actually there. (Not talking about myself, just speaking generally.) With vehicles that’s even more true, history is fixed in time and can’t be experienced after the fact. Vehicles can be experienced indefinitely. |

Sanyo made a verticle lettering compatible radio (FT8, iirc). I had to remove and reinstall way fucking too many of those POS for warranty service. The R&R time estimate was BULLSHIT. Sanyo did not account for the 90° service angle IMHO. Asswipes. |

And they love to feed vets bags full of pills. I dated a vet who broke her hip in the military. In all my life I never would've believed is until I saw it how the VA gave her hundreds of pain pills at one time in a paper bag. Addicted is an understatement. |
