Besides At the Mountains of Madness?

I have has The Complete Collection of H.P Lovecraft for years and years.
Never read all of it, but at times read various stuff - I like all of it, and have read most, if not all of his longer stories....

Tell me yours!

I am ashamed to say I haven't read much Lovecraft at all.  Been meaning to for years.  It's not one of his better ones but I was creeped out by Under the Pyramids.

Oh... that's tough...

I've read them all at least twice.

Case of Charles Dexter Ward is up there.

The Shadow over Innsmouth, obviously.

Nyarlathotep <- also my favorite HPL diety.

The Haunter of the Dark

...

I also recommend reading stuff from Robert Bloch and Clark Ashton Smith, if you like HPL.

The Rats in the Walls
The Haunter of the Dark
The Colour Out of Space
The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath
The Shadow over Innsmouth
The Case of Charles Dexter Ward
The Lurking Fear
At the Mountains of Madness

I have the full collection and have probably read them all a dozen times over however the above I think are my favorites. The collaboration with August Derleth, The Lurker at the Threshhold is also a great story.

This guy does great readings of Lovecraft (along with other authors), if you are more of an audiobook guy:

You wonder why there has not been a good adaptation of Lovecraft's works on film.
My favorite Lovecraft inspired movie is Underwater

Pickman's Model was my introduction.

Love the books.

One of the best 'not Lovecraft' Lovecraft movies.  Crappy trailer.

I will check it out.

My favorite Lovecraftian movie is "Mouth of Madness".  Maybe not directly inspired by Lovecraft - whatever.

Shorts - Cold Air or the one with Houdini and the great pyramid.

Long - curious case of charles dexter ward, and shadow out of innsmouth. Also like the forbidden city as a medium length

The new Nick Cage movie isn't terrible.

Mandy is the most bad ass, badass movie in existence. Color was good too, I haven't read the story; I've got a big old collection of Lovecraft stuff I still haven't opened. ??

This. Man, love this one. There's also a great film version by Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, Dagon, From Beyond, Castle Freak) that was part of the Masters of Horror series.

I also love Shadow over Innsmouth and Pickman's Model.

I'd also be remiss if I didn't note that Nemesis can be sung to the tune of Piano Man:

I have seen The Color out of Space.  Not bad, not great.  The written story is (obiously) better.
Film is not the best medium for Lovecraft stuff, but there are better attempts than others.
The Reanimator is also notable!

On a different tack, in the forward of one of Robert E Howard's "Conan" books, there is report of a discussion between Robert E Howard and H. P. Lovecraft, in the early 1930s, about whether "modern" civilization would ever be brought down by barbarism, (as in barbaric behavior) which I found fascinating. The conclusion, IIRC, was that barbarism would ultimately triumph. This begins to sound a bit too familiar.

Not shitting on you.

But I guarantee you've seen his effects on pop culture.

The Thing

Event Horizon

Evil Dead

Immediately jump to mind.

But yeah, a lot of people don't know the fathers of sci-fi / cosmic horror.

Which is a shame...
