Meat doesn’t come from plants, either does milk.

If you are a vegetarian,  why would you need vegetables that look like meat?

His terrible cooking with terrible ingredients, coupled with his terrible commentary, has gotten him quite the following.

They are not necessarily just for vegetarians - I am not.

I try to limit my consumption of red meat throughout the week.

But sometimes I want a tasty burger and these below work quite well with nearly the same great flavor and great texture,

Not a vegetarian, but the vegetarians I know eat those because when they're out with friends, or they're grilling, they can eat  a "burger" like everyone else, and not have to go without or be the butt of jokes from everyone around them.

I see it as a win-win.   Vegetarian friend hanging out with me... let's go to Carl's Jr.  They can get a plant burger, I can get a Guacamole bacon burger.

That doesn’t even look like any meat I’ve seen. Looks like someone compressed shredded bbq into a patty.

Those look quite tasty. I can also say the MRE BBQ Veggie Burger from years back was pretty dang good as well. It was one of my favorite MRE's.

It ain't meat.

2020 tofu with a lot of undesirable ingredients.
Some like it, I don't. BK snuck one in on me one day. Took it to the counter and told them the patty was rancid. They said it was an Impossible burger and no one could tell the difference. I could.
Left it there and haven't been back. Didn't even bother to ask for my money back. I used to like BK.

I had an impossible burger at red robin last year. It was pretty good, and Kinda surprised me. They have a ways to go before it tastes 100% like real meat.

Why are you checking for internal temp if it's made of vegetables?

Fair enough. Butterball makes a great burger patty. The original is good, the onion added is better.
Since LostWife developed a beef allergy (or what ever they feed them before the processing), we have had to find a lot of alternatives. I think I prefer these to a lot of beef patties.

Just like red meat nothing wrong with veggie / plant based products in moderation.

Once or twice a week I enduldge in a 4-6oz cut of well done steak.

Then once a week usually consume another 4 or so ounces of 97/3 ground beef in my pasta.

Then it's mostly chicken.

Sure it does, the cow eats the plants, we eat the cow.  And the plants are solar powered so the whole thing is "green".

It was delicious. If I recall correctly I put a thin layer of thousand island on it that day.

Here is a great example of a overcooked by some but still bursting with flavor pork chop,

Kind of curious if this has a higher profit margin than a normal beef burger.

There must be demand for this sort of product to bother offering and advertising it.

I don’t know.  I tried meatless burger before, gross.

If I ever would quit meats, I would eat salads, stir fry, veg casseroles, cereal,  pastas, etc. I couldnt eat gross tasting fake meat.

Pork chops come from pigs. Pork chops do not come from beans. The only things that come from beans are farts and Communism.

You're paying top dollar for a byproduct. Go look at all of Soy's industrial uses, you're paying good money for garbage that they're trying their hardest to make more profitable.

It isn't healthier either as they've already been busted for that.
The FDA said one thing, then the AHA found something different, then the European Food Safety Authority found something completely different.  Just about all of the claims about Soy being good for your health were complete BS.

Some chance he's a cancer survivor. Saw it with one of my parents and heard it from others, that what you like/can stomach as far as rare/med rare in steaks and such changes after surviving cancer.

Odd, that, but it's a real thing.

I tried that stuff. I think it’s basically some type of bean and other vegan approved natural chemicals that come close to the taste and texture of beef.

I tried it several times. To me the stuff is kind of “empty” compared to actual beef when it comes to feeling full after the meal. I was not satisfied with the meal and stopped using it.

IMO bean and plant protein does not have the same quality protein of an animal protein. It probably lacks the building blocks to build muscle if your lifting. I’d like to see a comparison of amino building blocks is way a pea Vs a Steak.

I have never understood vegetarians and vegans wanting to eat things that resemble meat. I thought that meat repulsed them. They miss meat so much that they want something that tastes like it.

If you want to eat it, go for it. But don't try and tell me it's healthier than normal meat. Somehow 22+ ingredients & processing is more healthy than beef? I don't buy it.

It's funny, in Cyberpunk 2077 it's all fake meat that the people on the street eat.  V meets a dude butchering chickens and mentions that it's illegal.  Strangely accurate that game is.
