The Mk18 Mod 0 is the quintessential model of the AR/M16 platform in my opinion.

Post a picture of what you think is the best looking AR-15.

It changes with me from time to time, and I can't quite pick a favorite, but this picture of a MK18 always puts me in a good mood.

The cool thing is I know exactly where that picture was taken.

MK18s are definitely the best right now, but I’m pretty partial to my Block II clone as well.

@JamiesGotAGun

They are anti-rotation pins.

The idea is they prevent the pins from spinning around and wearing out the pin holes while firing. In theory after enough rounds through any AR you would enlarge the holes to the point where the spec pins would no longer fit and you'd then have to use larger (thicker) pins. They are for show on that AR if I'm honest, but a lot of guys with registered M16 machine gun lowers use them because they don't want to wear a transferable receiver out.

I personally love PDW style AR's, but I also found I have a soft spot for SBR carry handles...and one of those will probably be my next build.

I've really come to appreciate the simple A1 rifle style. Very nice.

I have to put together one with polymer furniture at some point; mine has wood.

Mk18 is a close second, with the XM177 taking top for retro, but I'm pretty sure that I'd have to go with the Mk 12 Mod H as the all time best looking AR15 ever made.

Not mine, belongs to Ben Chau Photography, but it's the best pic I've ever seen.

If it’s draped in Magpul and/or rails it’s disqualified from being sexiest.

Most anything from the various KISS, Retro, or IDF pic threads qualifies.
