I decided to buy some stocks recently, in addition to my stock purchases with Drips. I recently purchased OHI and MPW.
OHI has a dividend of 8.84% and a PE ratio of 16.39. MPW has a dividend of 7.34% and a PE of 8.41. My thinking is to hold these and collect the dividends and maybe get some growth in addition. It seems to me that having stocks with substantial dividends is better then holding cash and getting much less then 1% interest. Will these become long term investments for me, probably only until I am sure the stock market has turned for the positive. As always I don't recommend stocks for others, these just seem to fit my current needs. What are you buying? |

Still buying DVY on down days. It's an ETF, not a stock but it's pretty much all I am buying right now.

Started rotating out of the State Street Real Asset CIT fund I used to go defensive in my 401k for the last year (REITs, TIPS, Commodities, Oil). Moving into Dodge & Cox fund (DODGX).

Not much looks great right now. Maybe some consumer staple stocks if you can get them on a dip. Same thing with energy stocks. My favorite is still Albemarle (ALB) when it dips. They should do well with just their lithium business alone with EV's and lithium batteries coming more important. If anyone has courage and disposable income, you can always short the S&P or vulnerable industries like cruise stocks. Other than that, stack a small chunk of cash and be ready to buy if the market corrects again.

TSLA a couple of months ago. Feeling good about that, at least today (up 9.78%)

Honestly, nothing looks good. Having said that I shifted what I had left in energy stocks into SJT and midstreams like AM and HESM. The theory behind the midstreams is that they are relatively stable as in not as subject to the wild movements in crude since they just transport, store oil and gas for someone else for a fee. Right now, I'm just looking for a safe haven that pays a decent dividend.
But, I'm still around 60% cash (sometimes more). |

Combed through negative beta stocks and found BTTR. It often moves opposite the market, like this morning. It's up over 5%.
Not saying it's a good stock, but it's something you may be able to play in a down market. Wanted to add, I don't own any of it. |

I'm up around 10% on FLNG stock. They have their tankers booked out solid with cargoes. Plus it pays around 10% dividend right now.
(Fixed my dyslexic ticker) Sorry. Lot's of demand for LNG cargoes to Europe right now and it's probably attractive to them as it's a shorter distance than traditional LNG shipments going to Asia. |

I am holding for now, but looking at increasing some of my high dividend paying stocks, probably O and OHI, in the near future. I am waiting for a pull-back day.

I sold my Amazon stock today and took a 26.5% gain. Held this for 2.5 months. I bought this stock before the split.
My thought is that this stock may decline over the next six months and I will buy back in if it drops enough. If it doesn't drop enough I will look at various stocks to see what I can find to buy with the funds. I'm in no particular hurry. |

What I know about it is just from financial news blurbs I pick up while looking for other things. From what I read, AWS is carrying the load right now. The retail side is flat. |

Sounds right to me but I don't stay up on it. My guess, and it really is a guess, is that retail is in for some ruff times for a while. About the only pure retail I have currently is DG, and I have owned that for years and plan to stay with it. |

EPD & KMI View Quote I am not recommending this stock at all, but I picked up a small amount of TRGP. This company is losing money right now and for me that is usually the end of my interest. But I liked some other statistics of this stock and added a small amount to my holdings. Sometimes I do that if I think a stock has promise and I want to watch it, but I don't want to take lots of risk. I particularly liked that Vanguard and Blackrock have an interest in the stock. |

My current play has been FLNG though. They have a fleet of 13 LNG carriers. |

Bought a small amount of SKX this morning. I really like their shoes, but this stock is an unusual buy for me as it pays no dividend. I liked the numbers on this one.
I will hold on to this and most likely buy more if there are any pull-backs. Added: I also bought a substantial amount of OHI yesterday in addition to what I already owned. |

Not a bad week for me, but I am still down 11.91% for the year. At one time I was down much more.
I really don't know for sure, but this looks to me like a dead-cat-bounce recently. I hope I am wrong, and that the market makes some further recovery! |

I bought Newell Brands (NWL) on Friday. They make a ton of things that people may still need in bad times. Fairly low PE and a decent dividend.

Antero Midstream (AM) and American Tower (AMT). They both seem pretty resistant to market trends, and AM pays regular dividends.
