I have to say, I've made a journey with the S & W Shield. It's a Makarov sized 9mm that can be had with a side-safety or without, with decent three-dot sights and very concealable compared to some other designs. I bought a couple of Gen 1 versions before COVID because they were dirt cheap. I thought I loved the pistol at first, but over the course of three years I've learned to hate it.
* Horrible trigger. I thought at first "at least it's better than a Glock trigger", but I was kidding myself. * Horrible ergos. The side safety would be a bitch to find, much less actuate, in an emergency, and the slide release is nearly useless. * Unnecessary "safety" feature, in the form of the little lever you have to reach into the locked back slide to push down in order not to have to pull the trigger during field strip. Just pull the fucking trigger. * Hard to load mags. Even after 1,000 or more rounds through mine, I still have to use a loading attachment to load the mags. * Stupid "sleeve" on the 8-round mags, so that they can't be over-inserted into the mag well. So, sad to say, my favorite pistol of 2019 is now my least favorite in 2022. I'm so disappointed in it that I'm actually thinking about going back to 1911's after nearly 30 years. Attached File |

SW9VE. I should totally sell mine, but need to find some mag blocks so I can do it in this horrible state.

Anything made by Taurus.
I bought a set of sequential serial numbered Taurus 1911's from an OKC fun shop. First time I went to shoot them one jammed up and I ws never able to fire a single round, the other had stovepipe issues and jam issues. Sent them back to Taurus to get fixed, nadda. The gunsmith at the shop where I bought them gave it a go trying to get them fixed. That didn't do shit. I finally sold them on line at a loss to a guy on ARFCom who swore he could make them work. Last he told me, he had no luck. |

Walther P22. Bought it, shot about an entire brick through it. At least one FTF/FTE every mag through. Worst .22 pistol Ive ever shot. Also any J-frame sized revolver. Had an airweight SW, terrible.

Anything SIG
I threw a fucking SIG Mosquito in 300' of Atlantic ocean, it was such a piece of shit. Then the drop and fire bullshit soured me on SIG forever. |
Keltec PF9. Bought before micro 9mm really took off. Only gun I ever had that fell apart while I was shooting it.
Never again will I buy any Keltec. |
I've owned two different Para P-14's that I had nothing but problems with.
Everything I've owned I've been really happy with.
Have no interest in 1911s, but I would take one if someone gave it to me for free. Same with Glocks. Prefer S&W and Walther and Ruger handguns. |
S&W .38 Bodyguard
Its been broken most the time Ive owned it and S&W 'has the parts on backorder' |
If it's not chambered in .22LR or 9mm luger, I'm not buying it.

Quoted: Anything from Kimber. View Quote this. Bought an ultracarry, had issues with it. Called Kimber, they were so shitty about it, that i'll never buy another gun from them. Also SW Shield. Not a bad gun, but a hellcat is same size and twice the capacity. why carry 6 when I can carry 15 just as easily? |
Diamondback DB9 or anything else they make.
During a range trip, the trigger literally snapped off in my hand. |

Quoted: Anything from Kimber. View Quote Old Kimber was Best Kimber. Sold my S&W M&P 9 in 2011, didn’t do anything much for me over my Glocks and Walther P99 Gen 2 (especially that one). No interest in DA/SA autos (caveat: P99 AS trigger is in a class of its own). Also, ParaOr P14-45 LTD. Had one in ‘99 and sold it a couple years later. Showed more guide rod wear earlier than I was comfortable with, and there are much better quality pistols in that category. Also not big on double stack 1911s; prefer single stack or striker fired for larger capacity pistols. |

Colt "Double Eagle". It was a 10mm.
Shook itself apart and the grip panels contained the firing system - so when they came loose, the gun stopped shooting. Bigger_Hammer |

Sig Mosquito. Traded it for a Ruger 10/22 and never looked back.

Beretta Pico
I love my Berettas, but the Pico is an abomination against the Beretta name. |
My first pistol was a Jennings .22
I could point it at a target 10 feet away and not hit it |
Glock 9mm hated shooting it. Hated carrying it. Finally got rid of it and will never buy one again

Taurus. Two different 9mm pistols went back for FTF, both times received new guns which were equally bad. Sold for loss.
Heritage (Taurus) .22. Jammed up and I could not get it to fire or open the cylinder to unload it. Used it as target fodder for my AR. SCCY. A buddy swore they were the next big thing. He melted all 5 of them I think. Kimber. I've tried twice. Never again. Any S&W semi auto pistol. Nope. |

Quoted: Interdasting. When I started chatting up 1911's again, several of my buds chimed in, "Ah, no, man, get a CZ75." What makes you hate them? I've had people swear they bought that gun because of how great the trigger is.

ISSC M22. The pistol itself felt alright and it was pretty accurate but the mechanics of the thing were annoying and it was extremely picky on ammo. Not much fun durung the 22lr drought of Obama's second term...
Kahr, uh... Anything. Personal preference. Didn't like the sights or trigger. Walther CCP. I probably have PTSD from the struggle to put thay f#!king thing back together. M92 PAP, because some drunk Serbian asshole put the barrel in crooked so I'd adjust the canted gas block only to have it work itself back to its "upright" position of being canted all over again Para Warthog. Stiff springs all over, unreliable mags, new ones are rare and expensive. Pretty harsh to shoot. There are a bunch of CCW guns too in my long search to find "the right one" that are just fine but not for me. |
SA TRP 10mm. Lemon from the factory. Probably won’t buy anymore 1911s. I’ll stick with hk for my 45s from now on.
S&W M&P9 or Bodyguard 380..or probably any S&W made after the 1950s.
Honestly have had good luck with my stuff, including Taurus. Used a G2C as my carry gun for a while. I sort of go back and forth on Smith J frames. I buy one, keep it for a while then move on. Not sure why. Had a Ruger LCR in 22 that I really wanted to like but just couldn't hit anything with it. Probably won't go there again. Astra 600 in 9mm. Bought it right before shoulder surgery. Absolutely could not rack the slide after surgery. Never could get it apart either. Had that same issue with a Browning 1910. Breakdown eluded me.

Quoted: Why? @s1w View Quote Spend $899 on a pistol. Go to chamber first round first day out at the range, it jams. Smack it home and shoot. Next round it cycles jams too. After palm gets sore from smacking slide, head home disappointed. Go home and read about it…apparently a common issue. SS even has videos about it stating that their pistols require a break in period of about 200 rounds. Ok fair enough. 300 rounds later it still jams pretty much every other shot. |
