Of all the generations of Glock which one is the most reliable?

2nd.

3 or 5.

Never owned a Gen 1 but every 2-5 I've owned has been gtg.

Based on the sample size here, let’s go with G3...

I’ve owned all generations at one time or other.  The only problems I ever had was a Gen4 G22 rusting shut.

I hate that gun.

I’ve owned various models of generations 1-4.  Fired thousands of rounds through each.  All were absolutely reliable. Had no second thoughts about carrying any of them.

My gen2 g19 has been pretty darn good.

The only malfunction that I can think off was when I was first starting to reload 9mm.

9mm, gen 2.  Straight cut breechface, squared extractor and early ejector that actually threw brass sideways.

In .45 cal., they all work.

No meaningful difference. They are all outstandingly reliable but anything is subject to manufacturing flaws and defects and of course wear and neglect.

Gen "22" when they finally switch over to some serious technology and get rid of 18th Century powder-fired weapons.

EDIT: OMG, that gun has a plastic trigger.  How low can you go?

I put all of my Gen 2's (19, 20 and 21) though a shyt-pile of various ammo without any ftf's.  I haven't had my G3, SF's and G5 long enough to make a fair comparison, and I don't have time to reload any more to find out either.

I prefer the Gen5's.

I like the triggers better, they are more accurate in my hands than my 2-3-4's, MOS is optics ready, and the texture is about right.

2-3-4's have better metal finish. 2's and 3's have decent triggers. 2's and 3's absolutely sucked for a soap bar texturing.

If the 5's were melonited/nitrided, I don't know if I would have a complaint. I carry both a G5 G19 MOS/RMR and a G5 G17 MOS/RMR.

It sure isn't my Gen 3 from the Gen 4 release era. Brass-to-the-face and a FTE every 50-100 rounds until I replaced the extractor and ejector.
