Shaping up to be a mild down day across the board for my stuff.  One of those days where you just sit inside and read because it's drizzling outside.

I'd like to buy puts but no matter how much reading I do I can't fully understand the concept. Guess I just need some paper and crayons

Edit: someone help me with this scenario. If I buy a put with a strike price of $1 and the ask is .60 with a expiration of 12/24/20. How much will 1 contract cost? And I'm assuming as long as the stock stays under $1 by 12/24 it'll print money?

TD Ameritrade has and app called Think or Swim. You can trade play money options there. It will make more sense once you begin to see the contracts price rise and fall as the underlying moves. You’ll be able to see how time decay works and how quick you can go to zero on a naked contract.

If still you want to trade real money the software will be the same you learned on and now you can lose money even faster.

Keep your derivative trading under 5-10% of your portfolio.

You are not WallStreets Bets materials good sir.

Writing the contracts naked is the move of an imbecile.

Buying the contracts isnt a big deal,  you just need to have hard and fast rules about when to dump the position. Also realize that it is much more like gambling than investing so once you spent your money, you stop playing.

not really any new info, just reiterating what every other article has said for the last few months so no surprise it had little to no impact on the price.

RIG was my cash cow on that bump. Sold at 2.57. I think it's going higher, but hoping folks take profits tomorrow or early next week so I can buy back in at a discount. We'll see.

I got tired of waiting for XOM to move. Sold and bought RDSB. It's been doing well enough.

I should have stocked up on RIG at .80, I made some money on it earlier this year.

https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/38083/russia-is-using-augmented-reality-to-produce-its-su-57-fighter

Would export sales of MVIS be protected under ITAR if they are purchased by Russia? Could the Russians or Chinese attempting to purchase MVIS technology cause the US government to declare it essential? An interesting video for sure. The airforce, army and navy here have been using augmented reality here for maintaining equipment for a bit but first I hear of aircraft production using it

If you are looking for other O&G stocks:

CDEV

QEP

That whole sector was beat down but it has been making a good comeback. Lots of upside still on the table.

It gets to be a very complex question very quickly. Do a little DD on IVAS, which is the military version of Hololens II under testing and development by the DOD right now. The line item budget for IVAS is $906M in 2021 and well over $1B in 2022. I don't know what portion will fall under ITAR, but there's little doubt some of it will.

I was involved in aircraft manufacturing for several years after leaving the USAF. I've already seen video of H2 being used in the underfloor wiring process, and it comes very close to the same level of paradigm shift Henry Ford introduced with the production line.

There's little doubt that somewhere down the line they may eclipse the LBS tech used in H2, but the estimates I've seen range from two to five years...which might as well be centuries in micro electronic terms. Microsoft actually took the manufacturing process of the engine from Microvision (and now pays them a royalty equal to what they were paying for the actual assembly) as part of an effort to anchor the supply chain for the IVAS components (DOD requirement). It makes the sale of the NED thorny for MSFT...

I'm definitely torn...

Someone who posts on MVIS often and has been involved in corp M/A (also an FC participant) says a steady progression in share price is a good indicator a deal is approaching. He says acquirer's dislike defending large price multiples to their shareholders, and much prefer to run the price to some level just underneath the agreed-to buyout price before making an announcement. It makes sense...can't remember who (though I tend to think it was actually Microsoft), but I remember one of the tech giants getting their market cap beaten repeatedly for paying huge multiples for acquisitions.

On the other hand, I need 7K more shares to hit my target, and I DAMN sure don't want to pay $20K for them.

Options expiration is this coming Friday, as well. That's always good for a laugh...
