A message from the vice president More than 300 Black churches across Virginia will hear from Vice President Kamala Harris between Sunday and election day in a video message that will air during morning services as part of an outreach effort aimed to boost McAuliffe. In the video, first obtained by CNN, Harris said her time growing up in Oakland's 23rd Avenue Church of God taught her it was a "sacred responsibility" to "lift up the voices of our community." "I believe that my friend Terry McAuliffe is the leader Virginia needs at this moment," says Harris, before praising McAuliffe's "long-track record of getting things done for the people of Virginia." Harris implores congregants to vote following church service. The McAuliffe campaign has embraced "Souls to the Polls," block-party style events featuring top campaign surrogates after church near polling locations, to drive voter turnout. This election is the first year Virginians will be able to vote on Sunday. View Quote |

How does that work? I've always been told by preachers that that goes against Churches being tax exempt entities.

https://www.churchlawcenter.com/church-law/political-activities-by-churches-whats-permitted-and-whats-prohibited/
Churches and other 501(c)(3) organizations have been prohibited from supporting specific political candidates since the passage of the Johnson Amendment in 1954. The Internal Revenue Code provides that, by definition, 501(c)(3) organizations do not “participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.” In other words, taking an active role in a political campaign can negate a church’s tax-exempt status. If a church is determined to have violated this rule it may be required to pay income tax for every year it has failed to qualify for the exemption due to its political activities. View Quote |

"distributing of statements" is literally in the fucking regulation.
This should be green light for every conservative leaning church in the state. |

Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and Pennsylvania people know the commies have boxes of ballots in increments of 100k ready to go. It's always 100k. Many boxes. Whatever it takes.

Black “churches” are more like social clubs where they all try to keep up with the Jones.

So Repealing the Johnson Amendment was one of Trumps campaign promises, and I’m pretty sure Congress did not repeal it. But IIRC he did sign an executive order that eases some of the restrictions. Is that still in place?

Our former church went commie and no one yanked their tax exemption. Jesus was a socialist you know.

They should permanently lose their tax exemption if they show that.

300 Churches full of Sheeple who vote how they are told to vote, and never once stop to think that maybe it's against their religion to vote for people who advocate killing babies.

I was curious how blacks that don’t live in the same area seem to use the same phrases and words when they’re talking about anything political. I’d heard church was likely where they’re given the political agenda the Democrats want so this makes perfect sense.

Sounds like the VP is involved in an organized criminal enterprise... so RICO or peach mints?

Jesus wants you to abort all your children and get free shit from the gubberment

This may well backfire as Kamala Harris is not popular with the black community.
Obama would have been more effective, Stacy Abrams has a nice voice and seems sweet but Kamala Harris is repellant. |
|
Gap-Tooth Abrams is promoting "Souls to the Polls" in black churches in the Tidewater area....They don't even try to hide it now because they know that there will be no repercussions.

Drop tax exempt status for them, and for any church that takes a political stance.

People sometimes ask why I as a member of the Christian faith I do not regularly attend church services.
This is just one of many examples why. Looks like somebody in the deep state is ramping up the Clergy Response Team project again. |

Quoted: That kinda ruins their tax exempt status doesn’t it? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Black churches are used for blatantly partisan political purposes frequently and openly, without the pretense that other churches tend to go through. Quoted: Many "black churches" have little to do with Christianity. Going to a black church can be an interesting experience, but they have a tendency to be extremely light on scripture or theology and very heavy on prayer requests, music, and community and social events. And that's the legitimate ones. There are a lot of small churches with total shysters running them and taking in whatever money they can extort. You can always ID these from being a church out of a strip mall with a new BMW or Cadillac in the marked Pastor's spot in the parking lot, and the pastor will have a title like being the Reverend Archdeacon megapope. Plenty of white churches are also ran by unscrupulous sorts too I'm sure- but rarely are they so brazen. |

I was attending a church for a time. They got a new pastor. He gave a sermon railing against trump. I grabbed my wife’s hand, we got up and. Never went back. I ain’t got time for a political preacher. Feed your flock the word, not political propaganda
