Around 2000 PPU was importing that ammo as new manufactured and Hornady had a JSP version.  I acquired 60 rds of East German 7.9x33 and two MP44s in Iraq 03' (only one mag)

7,9 Kurzpatrone cartridges are not particularly rare, at least not in the cartridge collector world. The more common variations of WW2 and post-war DDR and Czech cartridges only fetch a few dollars each. A fascinating cartridge and weapon. Even after all these years they keep turning up.

You could also just make your own from other brass, especially if they're "a few dollars each".
Making 8mm Kurz Sturmgewehr cases from Mauser K98 shells

That guy's setup isn't optimal, a mini cut-off saw and jig is much faster.
7.92x57mm brass can be made from 30-06 brass, so it's likely you could also substitute it for the above. Maybe even 7.62x51mm, or others that are derived from either of those two as the original parent case.

You guys are all thinking of it wrong, it is to lead an overhead target flying away from you.  Some of you duck hunters know that overhead shot going away from you is easy to miss.

Isn't it also an international maritime violation?  Not that they likely care about that but I recall there have been some serious issues with plundering and salvaging WWI and WWII wrecks in recent years.

Anybody able to ID these rounds? The black I assume is still AP, but the purple/pink band did not come up in a quick search.

Looked like the lathe operator was wearing safety glasses? That's about a first in this thread.

I'm pretty sure that 9.2" WW1 shells were filled with P mixture black powder.  Seems like it would have been less effort to just MAKE black powder.  Maybe the cordite propellant works good in rockets, and makes it worth the effort?

The top ones were taken from Fedayeen Soldiers during the invasion they had more of a homicidal intent. The bottom ones are more I don't want to be captured and take a few of you with me it's almost like a status symbol to have one of those belts. I've seen dudes who were pretty much outfitted as human guided missiles where they had a switch for the operator and a remote switch in case they got incapacitated or chickened out.Attachment Attached File
