Was wondering if since Christmas if USPS delivery times have improved?  Stuff getting delivered?

It's hit or miss depending on the area and the number of USPS employees out sick with covid.

I have two outgoing and one incoming package just...out there somewhere. For weeks. Then other things arrive in a normal time frame. There's no predicting it.

Nope. Not here. I just got a notification my package of mags I bought over a week ago delivered at 5:13 today. I live in a small town. A year ago mail was always delivered before noon on Saturday.

Nope. Still waiting on some EE payments that normally would have been here by now.

I can at least say that I have finally received everything that I ordered in December.

Trying to do a build on some stripped uppers I bought, supposedly Aero, I had gotten a couple of years ago and both are out of spec, can't even get the ejection port rod started.

Want to do my build, was just wondering if it was functioning yet or not to get delivery.

Not if it's going through the Memphis, TN hub.

I have had no problems with west coast shipping. The rest of the US sucks though. Item from Midway lost. Return to NJ sat at their local PO for 12 days waiting for delivery. Wife's meds shipped 12 days ago from OH, and still haven't arrived. The meds usually arrive in 3 days.

Yes in general they have improved.  Even Amazon has gone closer to normal.

Yea overall it seems better. But I did just receive something today that I ordered at the very beginning of the month and it sat about 45min away for the last 11 days...

Just yesterday, I took possession of some sling swivels I purchased in early December from an online retailer. The seller shipped same day of purchase. Over 6 weeks of traveling back and forth across the country multiple times. With that being said, FUSPS.

This is the mother fuckin truth.   Memphis is a black hole that sucks the life out of all the mail.

Your shipment was received at 3:58 pm on January 12, 2021 in COLUMBIA, MO 65203. The acceptance of your package is pending.

I made the mistake of picking Priority shipping through USPS.  Never again.

Package would be coming from NC, doesn't sound like it would bode well.

I wonder if the special handling to track Priority Mail might increase the chance of a delay.

Had a package shipped to me Thursday night and I got it today.
USPS first class.

Although they did lose a couple 2 weeks ago and I had to wait 2 more days to get them , they were priority as I needed the parts to get my car running.
I was pissed but amenities are close so only had to take a cab once.

Come to think about it , I'm still pissed.

The main distribution center in Memphis is located on Elvis Presley Blvd, directly in the hood. Busy place and also a place so mismanaged it’ll make your head spin.

Everything I’ve shipped to or received from west of the Mississippi has been pretty normal. Anything east of the Mississippi has arrived late, damaged, or with contents missing. This is of course a casual observation.

I'm not a fan of the USPS, but I haven't had any shipment problems with them at all in the last several months.
Heck, I just ordered something from Amazon this last Wednesday and it showed up USPS early this morning - no complaints from me.

A arfcommer from FL sent me something and it took 4.5 days to get to Rural AK.

Now my cigars my buddy gifted me are lost somewhere in between PA to AK.
He ordered them before the FL arfcommer sent me something.

I send 5-6 packages a week through Priority Mail.

This past week is the first decent week. If you ship something right now, it'll probably only be a day or two late (Priority 2 or 3 day)

The backlog is still very real though. I'm just getting material and parts in that were shipped 2-3 weeks ago.

Still waiting on a package shipped 12/30...........last updated 1/7, and I called the USPS and got someone on the phone to inquire about it............copped an attitude with me and hung up. How's that for service?

I had a package shipped a couple of weeks ago that is now in Puerto Rico and marked as "ready for pickup".

That would be an impressive trip to pick it up.

I ordered some parts from NY state a few weeks ago.  It took NINE DAYS to get to NJ, another week+ to get to me.

I've got a small package coming from the Tampa Bay area, I-75 is almost door-to-door, yet it went to over to MS, then up to MO, and maybe eventually will show up here.

Stuff I've sent out USPS is days behind what they should be. Stuff I've bought and had sent to me UPS is on point.

The folks I've been getting stuff from quit using USPS for the time being. Couple bucks more to ship, but at least it gets here.

Nope.  The USPS sucks.

I ordered some reloading projectiles from Texas that were shipped priority mail on Dec. 21st.  They've yet to arrive and are still in transit per their tracking system.

I called the local post office this past Friday to inquire about things.  They verified it's still in transit but is now one state away in the Indianapolis postal facility.  Only has to go to one more regional facility and then my local post office before I see it.  Maybe some day it will show up.  They really suck.

A buddy mailed Christmas cards on Dec. 14 to his family just 35 miles away.  They have yet to receive them.  We mailed Christmas cards to family members 800 miles away on the same day, and they received them a few days ago.

The USPS sucks.  Hmm???  Maybe Trump has some outstanding ballots sitting in the back of a mail room somewhere that they will find after the inauguration.

Did I mention the USPS sucks?

Oh well...it's in God's hands now I guess...
