8/31/2023 ASSOCIATED PRESS 2 HOURS AGO, FBI Updates Photo of University of Wisconsin Bomber Wanted for 53 Years https://apnews.com/article/university-wisconsin-bombing-leo-burt-sterling-hall-4d8aeae3ee200ac46d789d6b1d73f15c     This was posted on reddit.. and quickly deleted. OP said it is their old professor who has been teaching since the 80's.. Leo Frederick Burt is wanted for allegedly participating in the bombing of Sterling Hall, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin, on August 24, 1970. The blast from the explosion, combined with the fire, resulted in the death of a 33-year-old researcher. Additionally, there were several injuries reported and an estimated $6 million damage to the building and its contents. Reportedly, explosives had been placed in a stolen panel truck, located three blocks from the building, just several days before the blast. Also, a light-colored, late-model vehicle (Corvair) was seen leaving the vicinity of the bombing, and Burt was identified as being in the car. He's been on the FBI's most wanted list. There were a lot of dirty fucking hippies around UW-Mad campus in the 80's and 90's that openly sympathized with those shitheads. Not surprised they are still hiding in plain sight with lots of help.
One of them had done time and was living in the old rowhouses where the Kohl Center is now. That burned down in '89. This was 6 blocks from where the bombing was. |

My initial observation:
- the FBIs original Wanted poster has the original and the progressed/aged images showing a man with a half-smile. - In the recent pics/screenshots of the man suspected of being him, he is also wearing that same half-smile in every shot. - the "updated" Wanted poster that the FBI just "improved", shows the original pic, but the the two progressed/aged pics show someone wearing a frown. Looks like a potentially deliberate attempt to skew people's perception of what the suspect should look like now, and distance the aged images from how the college professor looks. Given that they did it immediately after being told the location of the potential wanted man, definitely very sus. Would be a shame if an executive summary of all this with pics and a timeline found it's way to the R members of the House Judiciary Committee........... |
