Four police went to a remote residence for some kind of "welfare check" The man he was looking for and his brother and sister in law attacked the police. They killed two officers, injured a third and the fourth escaped into some building. They threatened to burn the building down but were killed by a later group of police officers Also it sounds like a neighbor came over to see what was going in and was killed. Police are finding socially media posts that were anti vaccine and conspiracy stuff about other shootings being part of conspiracies https://abcnews.go.com/amp/International/wireStory/australian-police-investigate-extremist-views-cop-killers-95199024 |

Scene in Mystery Road where he knocks on the door and the roo shooters come out . Fucking tense.
Or the trailer door knock scene in Wind River. These remote residences. Scary stuff for LE. |

Yet again there is a lot that doesn't make any sense in this case like many before it.
2 young police officers 1 older male neighbour The 3 residents at the farmhouse all dead. 2 brothers and one of their wives were killed allegedly after going "postal". 2 of the 3 perps were school teachers. 1 was a principal with a reputation of turning around struggling schools and was generally loved by the communities he was in. I don't consider school teachers to be the generally accepted "right wing" conspiracy loon sovereign citizen type that they are being portrayed as. The police supposedly went there to check if the 1 of them who had been reported "missing" as few days earlier in another state, was there at the brothers place. Why the police did not make a simple phone call to the place but instead thought it was necessary for 4 cops in 2 vehicles to rock up apparently unannounced is a mystery. What reason did the 2 brothers have for being dressed in cammo and opening fire (Quote) "almost immediately". A neighbour came to see what the commotion was about and he got shot and killed. Strange that they would do that to someone they presumably knew. I think there is a lot of background info we may or may not get to know depending on who it benefits. It is a terrible shame that any of the lives were lost. |

While is sucks those officers got gunned down. They have not been winning hearts and minds down under these past few years. Guess those folks decided not to cooperate. Hope they are ready for even more draconian gun control.

Im sure there is more to this story than a friendly welfare check…

Well….my daughter flew down from NY to FL about 6 months into covid and was told that she'd have to quarantine for 2 weeks. About 3 days into it there was a knock at the door and 2 deputies in kit were at the door to verify she was home and quarantined. Another was at the side, over by the garage to provide covering fire I suppose if needed.
These are the times that we live in. Agents of of the state are using the threat of violence to enforce political will. Now it's always been that way but the dynamic was that we were a relatively homogeneous society that not only believed in the rule of law but also felt invested in it. Nowadays not so much and laws seem to represent and protect a very thin slice of society. It's also very apparent that laws do not apply equitably to everyone and that many are above the law. Just something to ponder. |

Some wanted guns gone. Some got what they wanted. Some fucked around. Some found out.

With the way Aussie cops have been acting.. I am not surprised someone took offense to them showing up at their home.

That wasn't a "welfare check" it was "let's go intimidate these people".
Oops. Those young, dumb, enforcers should read Gulag Archipelago and learn the wisdom within. |

The gun control drums are starting to beat again down there. It hasn't worked so they have to screw people harder with more gun laws, that don't work.

The loss of life is tragic but I too think there’s more to the story. Given the totalitarian ways Australia has turned due to COVID, I’m not necessarily surprised. Curious how manu Aussie gun owners “buried” their collections for unpleasant times?

ETA: Here is where the push for all this "gun control" is coming from https://www.un-ilibrary.org/content/journals/15643913/55/2/5/read Disarmament and Arms Control: A Contribution to Peace and Security The 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a unique opportunity to revisit the historical relationship between disarmament and development. While SDG 16 on peaceful and inclusive societies, justice and strong institutions recognizes that durable peace and lasting conditions for security are necessary for long-term development, we need to better understand the diverse areas in which achieving disarmament objectives can contribute to the implementation of the SDGs. All Member States have committed themselves to taking such an integrated approach. A central concern for disarmament and arms control is the protection of civilians from the impact of weapons. Measures to ban or restrict certain weapons on humanitarian grounds have a clear role to play in reducing armed violence and related death rates, an objective under SDG target 16.1. The increasing urbanization of armed conflict and the use of explosive weapons in towns and cities have particularly devastating impacts on civilians, causing death and injury, forced displacement, and destruction of livelihoods and infrastructure. In response to the escalation of armed violence, the United Nations supports efforts by Member States to develop appropriate limitations, common standards and policies in conformity with international humanitarian law on the use of explosive weapons in populated areas. Through SDG target 16.4 on significantly reducing illicit arms flows, the 2030 Agenda explicitly reflects upon the importance of arms control in promoting peace, security and sustainable development, while placing disarmament and arms control within the scope of development policies. To provide sustainable and coherent solutions with a strong development focus to the problem of small arms control, the United Nations will establish a multi-partner trust facility through the Peacebuilding Fund, contributing to SDG targets 16.4 and 16.a on strengthening the institutional capacities of States to prevent violence, terrorism and crime. |

Every authority figure in that country should have to run from their car to their home for fear of being skinned alive.
I had a trailer built in Australia last year, those people were so fucking consumed with fear that the entire country was paralyzed. I've lost all respect for the people of that nation and will never engage in any significant form of commerce with them ever again. |
