He will be KY's new Senator replacing Mitch. Barr was ok, new his stuff, could talk a good talk, but was just average for a politician. The guy running now is very cringe, he's a doctor and mentions it constantly. "Hi everyone, Dr. Ralph Alvarado here." If the guy had 2 functioning brain cells he would remember back to 2018 when "Hi, I'm a fighter pilot Amy McGrath" ran against Andy Barr and everyone hated her because every time she opened her mouth she said "I'm a fighter pilot". She was actually the navigator in a non-war zone but played it up as "I saw combat as a fight pilot". The Republican running doesn't have a great track record. He was a state legislative guy, his major bill got tossed out by the state supreme court. Medical stuff is in his nature, so he is good at that, but it is his only talking point. He ran as LT Governor and lost. Then moved to TN and did more medical stuff. He aligns with MAHA and was endorsed by Trump and Speaker Johnson. After winning his primary he removed all the high profile Trump stuff from his website and claims to be an "independent leader". The media called him on it and said the site still mentions Trump endorsed him. Below is the only "issues" info I could find. All generic fluff "I will bring down prices" with zero details on how he would do that. All his social media clips are "I'm here in XYZ Town or Festival" and no comments about what his actual plans are. As a physician, he's seen firsthand how rising prices and a broken healthcare system have made life harder for working families. That's why he'll work with Republicans and Democrats to fix healthcare, lower costs, increase transparency, and give patients more control over their care. Ralph also has a plan to make everyday life more affordable by bringing down the rising cost of groceries, gas, and healthcare, growing good-paying Kentucky jobs, and eliminating wasteful government spending that drives up inflation. Andy Barr was mentored by Mitch McConnell, so he knows how to be a politician. His website is impressive, huge list of everything he has been doing as a Rep and where he stands. https://barr.house.gov/ Of course Mitch hooked him up with the connections to all the important people...so I'm sure his campaign will be well funded and supported.  |

We're in fucking clown world, we've been cooked a long time. Trump came out and we all thought he was going to be the Golden Child, he'll fix everything and make America gooder. Now he's running on fumes, even if YOU are doing OK, look around... a LOT of people aren't. It's a struggle even for those with means to keep their buying power value positive year over year... a steady erosion of actual wealth value for those who aren't running the fewer and fewer corporations selling to the masses. So the solution is banana republic vote-buying, and so-called conservatives twist themselves into pretzels trying to explain how all the money printing, government handouts, and charging American citizens tariffs are a great thing. Because Iran... which we were told repeatedly 2 years ago that "my opponents are losers, they can't make deals, a vote for my opponents is a vote for war with Iran, I am the No New War President!" America is not a serious country anymore. I am battening down the hatches, trying to save/invest every single penny I can, and look into any option I can to help my family get through the rough times that are coming. Your GOP politicians are worthless, your MAGA politicians are worthless, your Dem politicians are worthless, your DSA politicians are worthless. Fuck all of them, we've been sold out a long time ago, no help is coming, pepper your anguses (sorry, angus beef is unaffordable now) and save your energy from handwringing over November.
