Even if they weren't releasing the video, I wouldn't go. Atlanta is a shithole of the highest order.
My family and I visited a couple years ago to tour the aquarium (a ripoff, IMO) and nearly got shot in a random shooting in broad daylight outside our hotel. |

Anything can happen anywhere
Just check the local .Gov. they have a list of all planned riots/protests/crime. They can help you plan what areas to avoid. Some in GD may not have the latest future crime bulletin. |

Some parts of ATL are safe, but the transition from safe to war zone is sudden. What parts do you plan on being in?
Stone Mountain, World of Coke, Aquarium, Greasy V are safe during the day. Avoid Underground ATL. I frequented it while in college (NGC 73-77) for the Nickle beers. Now it is a suicide pact. ETA: Be sure and avoid any street/road/boulevard with Peachtree in the name. I keed I keed.

Stay away from anywhere south of I20. Stay away from certain parts of the west side. ABC (Always Be Carrying).

Northeast, just off 285? Doraville? Norcross? Get some good ethnic food. You'll be fine. Eta: The White Windmill is one of my favorite coffee shops of all time. Just outside 285 in Doraville. |

We used to stay in Buckhead once a year and visit things in ATL. Last year my wife said we will not be returning. Over the past 5 years how ghetto everything has become is insane.

Sounds like you are going to Gwinette County. Used to be crime free, republican stronghold. Now a Democrat, crime Hotspot. Went there a few weeks ago. Keep your eyes open.

We lived in Lawrenceville for six years from 1988 to 1994 and it was a great place. Went back to visit friends a couple of years ago and it has turned in to a different place. We also lived in Macon for six years and know how bad both places can get.
