the Federation bureaucrats would issue a sternly worded UN style letter about the Empire's latest Death Star exceeding tonnage of some 500 year old treaty

Type 1 civ(maybe) vs Type 2 civ.
Empire wins. The Empire can "jump" into a Star System, Base Delta Zero the Federation Outpost, and jump to the order side of the Galaxy before The Federation knew anything happened, let alone be able to send a "rescue" team. |

Laser sword Sorcerers with huge fleets of war ships and endless soldiers would crush that ass.

Hmmmm....Boils down to Emperor Palpatine vs Q maybe?
Palpy can pull Death Stars out of his ass and force lightning the universe to death and Q gets bored easy. Plus if shit goes south in the Star Trek universe, you can always go back in time and try again, though you've also gotta have plenty of Enterprises to crash/blow up or some combination of the two every so often and those things ain't cheap. Meanwhile, the Millennium Falcon is indestructible, you can do whatever you want with it and it just keeps going, unless you need a hyperdrive failure or two for dramatic purposes. Star Wars has Padme, metal bikini Leiah and nekked Twi'lek dancing girls though... Trek has green 60's babes and a couple of hot Vulcans, plus a past her prime Uhura doing a nekked palm leaf dance Aliens in Trek are easy to do too, just change their face bumpies and you've got a whole new species! It's a hard choice, really. |

Federation wins, star wars has primitive weaponry and tech.....and no transporter technology.

STAR TREK: ACID PARTY My personal opinion though. Both franchises have been utterly ruined beyond any hope of salvage by corporate toadying, communist censorship and SJW's. |

Quoted: Which side does Q take? View Quote The original Q wouldn’t take sides, he would gloat as the Federation loses millions, then offer his services for Picard’s soul.... The Federation does have tech like photon torpedoes, phasers & transporter tech not shown in The Empire. Tech usually wins. Ask the Japanese. But don’t ask the VC or Afghanis.... |

Q would take a disliking to the Emporer, a carnival sideshow magician with delusions of grandeur.

Federation also has a dark side that will win by any cost it's called Section 31 and they are exempt from federation laws that includes genocide.

The federation defeated the borg and the Klingons.
The empire couldn’t even defeat the rebels. |

View Quote The Federation was only able to hold off The Dominion because they mined the wormhole and then the wormhole aliens disappeared The Dominion fleet. The Empire doesn't need no stinking wormhole. |

They would jump in pound the solar system to ash and jump. Then continue to jump around the galaxy until a force users found out where the deep space transport is coming from. Then send Sith Lords, emperial SF and Elite stormtroopers to destroy everything and everyone. Or palatine, vader or any sith could use the time doors to travel back in time to tell them the locations of any deep space transports. |

Though not officially part of the fleet arsenal, Federation has cloak technology. All out war, Treaty of Algeron is out the door. Feds cloaked, come in close, beam in and steal the Empire Hyperspace tech. Then transport out while leaving photon torpedos as a parting gift.

Q couldn’t even tame the borg who got beat by humans in a gun fight. |

Quoted: the Federation bureaucrats would issue a sternly worded UN style letter about the Empire's latest Death Star exceeding tonnage of some 500 year old treaty View Quote Yeah, something like that. A heavily militarized Federation that actually used the tech at its disposal would be...different. Edit: the UFP is a stagnant culture. They have the tech to build compact enough power supplies to have personal shielding and really kick ass powered armor. Yet they have no powered armor or personal shielding. They have a gun that can see through and shoot through walls, which is considered a rare exotic item and is not used by Starfleet. Their ships have superbly accurate weapons yet mount no active / point defenses on their ships to stop missiles or torpedos. All of this is stuff a normal, reasonably intelligent, 21st century person would think of within a day if given access to that kind of tech. That is how incredibly stagnant their society is. I can only conclude their schools are an epic clown show that make ours look amazing. |
