My wife said it was one of the best movies she's seen, and her favorite movie is Heat.

Glad to hear this.
The previews weren't exactly confidence inspiring. |

Just got home from seeing it. Can confirm, it’s awesome.
Maybe better than the original |

The wait for this movie to be released was long. Gonna go see it Monday.

Yeah we saw it in IMAX, I am considering it may be better than the original. It hit all the high notes of the first without being slavish or derivative, and it far exceeded the first in sheer aviation awesomeness. Really great story, and Maverick stayed true to character.

took the family tonight. We enjoyed it more than the original.

I'm pretty excited to hear so many shimmering reviews on it. Wasn't expecting much from hollywoke

I’m going to watch it but the first one was and is pretty damn awesome. I just can’t see it being better.

"The biggest opening of any Tom Cruise film has been the $64.9 million earned by his 2005 film War of the Worlds. Even Mission Impossible: Fallout--which is his highest-grossing film at $787 million--opened to a relatively low $61 million in 2012." I think this could be his first $100 million opening |

We just saw it.
Spoiler Alert!!!! Aerial scenes were great. Script is lame and predictable. Acting, except for the most part Cruise’s work, is bad. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Mrs Rabinowitz really really liked it. She came home in a great mood. I won’t be able to post any more this evening. |

You guys must be watching a dog movie than I did. Looked rehashed and very pretty much cockpit camera time. Gives confidence in the commanders just leaving a pilot for the enemy to extract information from. Commanders cover their ass and get the next rank.

Just saw it. I give it a 8-8.5/10. The flight scenes are amazing, storyline is great, script is fine, there are some slow points but overall it’s a great movie. I even enjoyed the humor. It might indeed be better than the original.

I loved it. I'm a naval aviation nerd and although there were definitely some cringe moments, they got a lot of things right. Way more than the first movie. Click To View Spoiler
The thing that impressed me the most was the RWR tone in the tomcat.. its totally different than what in the hornet and they nailed it. My guess is very very few people would notice or even care but it was a great touch.

Here’s what I liked:
* Woke free film. More of a 1980’s blockbuster on steroids. * Fantastic aerials * I liked the acting. Cruise was on point. * Nice nod to Ice Man and Goose. I’ll watch it again, and I highly recommend IMAX |

Saw it in IMax
I am a massive Top Gun fan, but it is better than the first. I cannot believe I'm typing this. |

ohhhhh!!!!! Thanks for the feedback, I just ordered a ticket for tomorrow!
Question, does Goose make a cameo as well? |
