No not if you or someone else nicknames you "tripod"...

If you have a tripod for your AR or similar gun, how would the tripod do with rapid fire? Imagine Jerry Mickulek (sp) speed. How steady is it (on a lower setting).

I only have one with a tripod and while stout, I doubt it would like auto or "rapid".
ETA: But I'll never find out as it went down with my boat.

It's their intended purpose. Now those aluminum camera tripods with the rifle adaptor? They may work if one of the legs is in line with the recoil.
