boooo!
Seriously though. I visited there a couple years ago. It was pretty awesome, especially if you're into space science/Nasa, etc. |

I'm glad the campground on that road at the interstate survived too. It was time to stop for a couple days finally on the way out from Central Florida

Yeah, that place is worth the drive to see it. I’ve been a few times and standing on the edge looking down is a rush. It’s a mile deep.

A piece of the meteor is sitting in my basement. Glad it missed the visitor center though.

For the last 42 years I have lived an hour and a half drive from there - and yet I have never been there (on the ground).
I should fix that sometime... |

If there isn't an Ancient Aliens episode blaming that on ETs having a nuclear war back in Anasazi times, there should be.

On a road trip across the country we drove an hour out of the way to see that and the visitor center was closed. And then we discovered they had a fence around the whole thing just far enough back so you couldn't see the hole without going through the visitor center.

CNN is preparing an expose' on how Trump policies made it much worse than it would have been if the pedo was in charge.
An Acosta/Fredo production. Coming soon. |

The "energy" in that area is pretty wild. I didn't know dirt could have "energy" but you can feel it when you're out in that part of the state. |

I've been there... and it's definitely a hole in the ground.
Honestly, it's kinda boring. |

What I find both hilarious and sad is that some bozo bought that crater, looking for the huge blob of iron that just HAD to be in there.
He spent decades sifting through the dirt from that crater, but never found that huge blob of iron, just millions of tiny raindrops of iron. |

Seems like a lifetime ago but I used to hunt rattlesnakes and fly drones on land in that picture.

Quoted: pretty much killed everything within 100 miles instantly. View Quote We visited Meteor Crater about 10 years ago and my favorite exhibit inside was a display showing what the impact would've been like. A bright flash then big bada boom and everything around killed like you said. Nothing like the Hollywood depictions of a giant flaming/smoking meatball that you can watch hit the ground. |

What are the odds of it landing so close to the visitor center? Clearly the proximity of the impact crater and the visitor center show that there was intent behind this.

First I'm hearing of this. I was at that visitor Center in 2017. When did this happen? Was anyone injured? Amazed it wasn't destroyed.

My wife and I stopped there a couple years ago and I want to say it was $38 a person. It is a total tourist trap and I think it is leased from the Reservation or some deal. Thankfully we were on our way through and didn't make a special trip just to see it.
There is a lava flow river near Flagstaff that I thought was much neater to see and was only $12 per vehicle. |

I live close to Sedona and all the Vortex whackos are just that. I have been near a few of them and never felt anything, but then again I wasn't naked either.

The real question is, how the hell did they know it would land there?

Flying from Denver to Phoenix I flew right over it. It's pretty cool to see from the air.
