That's because it's not near a major metro with a lot of jobs.
If it were in any close suburb of Dallas, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio it would be $1,000,000.00. And, you know what? That's true in NC, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and about 25 other states. Location, location, location. |

The land is nice but the house is far from impressive. Especially with such high property taxes in Texas. Hard pass from me.

Gotta say I've enjoyed this thread a bit. That house is outdated and overpriced, the once nice location isn't so nice anymore, Beaumont is a shithole.....blah blah blah. But I've made a pretty good living here. I'm also a little bit stuck here, not easy to pull up everything and move. Sounds like most of you guys live a charmed life. Wealthy, carefree, supermodel wives and no chains to hold you down...

Western winds last weekend brought some of the smells of the paper mill across the border though. |
