It's a well known geologic feature not an ancient boat.  Also there is absolutely no reason the Ark would be boat shaped since it had no means of propulsion or steering.  It simply needed to float and not get capsized by a wave.

Lets not get into the logistics and/or genetics of "two of every animal" and keeping them fed etc.  It's an ancient story the predated the Jewish texts, they borrowed it and embellished it for their own narrative.

So I went and started listening to the Shawn Ryan episode with this guy and he's exactly the person I struggle to take seriously due to him not being able to seperate his faith from the archeology and science. When he spoke of the Shroud of Turin he said to the effect  "this one scientist calculated the energy to leave the image was a billion watts in 1/40th of a billionth of a second." He adds no substance to substantiate that claim but let's take it at face value. Later in the episode when discussing the stone in front of Jesus' tomb and how it was moved he claimed the same event that imprinted the shroud blew the stone apart.

So the energy that imprinted the shroud left it intact, but blew a huge rock to bits? I'll buy his statements about the various pollen on the shroud but when you make fantastical claims rooted in your faith it makes the rest of your statements suspect. He seems very intelligent and has studied this stuff in detail. But rather than presenting facts for what they are he seems to pound to fit and paint to match what his faith leads him to believe.

Apparently all around this world cultures borrowed that story then. It’s not limited to that one spot.
Noah’s story is unique.   Admittedly, as far as I know.

Yes, lots of ancestral memories of a flood.  Most people even today live near the coast.  When the ice age ended sea levels rose some 400'.  That means a lot of people got displaced by a flood.

Someone may even have built a boat and packed it with domestic livestock.

Who would have thought, ancient cultures have their own flood myths about local/regional floods in their history. That's just outlandish

A global flood like described in Genesis would have even killed off most sea life as it would have diluted the salinity of the oceans.  Would be a mass extinction event not a reset of humanity.  Then there's the inbreeding that would have taken place after they got off the Ark, animals and people.

The Bible never stated two of every animal.

Gen 6:20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.

It says “kind” meaning the top of their species.  Two wolves covers the entire dog family. Two Lions covers the entire cat family…etc not two of every single animal

There's 3, the fake one, the real one on Earth and the one in Heaven it was modeled after. My guess is the Ethiopians originally were given the fake, then given the real one when Jerusalem fell. Them given the fake one again and the real one returned when Ethiopia fell in the 1990's during their civil war. I think the rulers of Jerusalem know exactly where the real one is. The Levites are the only ones who can handle the Ark to begin with.

"Top of their species" false argument is a funny one from apologetics.

It would imply a) DNA and cells would rapidly mutate at speeds beyond what you'd get from radiation poisioning and b) reproduction of animals going from the likes of wolf to husky to chihuahua would need to happen less than a month  successively, which is beyond the reproduction cycle of mammals.

I agree. Ive been down this rabbit hole since I was a kid. There have been unproven claims petrified gopher wood was pulled from that location where they are scanning now. The locals "know" thats where Noah'a Ark is located and tourism is built around it.

By reading the Bible you know what “kind” means!

Gen 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

After his kind!  Again! NOT two of every animal went on the Ark.  Only two of their kind.  Two wolves covers the entire dog family l.  Two lions covers the entire cat family and so on.

How does that make a "kind" a "top of a species," whatever that is supposed to be?  How do you rank a species from top to a presumable bottom?

How does "kind" only equate to cat (lion as you say) and not include a house cat?  There's lots of very obviously different "kinds" of cats.  "Kind" does not seem that narrowly defined.

This whole proposition of whittling down the story to seem somehow more plausible but really absolutely not is pretty odd, and seemingly meaningless.  You either believe it on faith as written/translated or you don't.

Several cultures have a flood story. It's going to be interesting if they pull up a chunk of wood.

I'm sure we'll hear 10,000 reasons that go through the mental gymnastics to explain why there would be a wood timber there and why it's absolutely not a boat.

After a while, it's just exhausting.

I can’t read that and come up with any meaning other than species will only propagate their own species. That lions can’t give birth to cheetahs, and that penguins can’t give birth to giraffes. Any other reading of that is delusional.

I really admire Gustav Dore's biblical illustrations but he never personally traveled to the Holy Land and only had lousy mid-19th Century photographs to rely on for his biblical depictions.  That necessitated some anachronisms like how there used to be a spectacular marble Herodian-Roman temple compound in front of the cave of Banias that he doesn't depict since it was almost all gone and long ago carried away by Arabs before the time photography came to Israel.  But it would have existed and looked brand new in the time of whomever wrote Mark and Matthew.

Here's how "Pan's Cave"/"The Gate of Hades"/"Spring of Banias" looks today:
