Our dispatchers are f'ing idiots. All the senior ones left for a better shift and we are stuck with all the new ones. They are constantly get information wrong. I capitalize on their errors whenever I can.

Was told when I first started my LE career by an old timer, who was very well respected in the command, “if you ever have a tough call to make, picture in your mind, your boss and a reporter standing behind you, watching you make that choice. If you can defend your decision to both of them, go for it... If not, find another way.”

Over 20 years ago and that voice in the back of my head saying those words have kept me out of the SAC’s office and always looked good the times I have been in the press and media.

Years ago it was a LOT easier to defend one's self than it is now.

It sure isn't getting any easier and that's yet ANOTHER reason to do something else for a living.

More and more every day, I am thankful I am closing in on retirement and feel bad for those who are still on their front half. Its goone get a lot worse before it swings back and gets better...
