This is your least tarded thread. Feel good about being right OP.

I agree! I've built three of them and they're all very fun.
I should probably build more while they're still relatively cheap and parts/mags are still available. |

You may like it, but their CZ 25 is a better design, Bren 805 806 CZ 75 etc. Even the Bren gun..... |

Very funny little toys, especially with a brace, too bad .32acp is pricy. I wish .380 or 9x18 surplus kits were available.
I did snag one of the .22lr conversion kits that were for sale a week or two ago, I'll build that into a dedicated pistol. Kharn |

If you have decent tools available the caliber change is easy. Turn and chamber a new barrel and install it - other than minor work to the bolt and extractor it's identical. |

I’ve been able to fire the full auto ones during joint training and I will admit that they are fun.

we should have fought Russia over Czechoslovakia at the end of ww2 they were worth it.

Could you guys post up some parts links? Maybe a build tutorial?
|

Very cool guns.
Def interested in hearing from those that have built them from kits...where did you source a receiver? |
|
I’m starting to think that OP is gym007 or his twin brother.
At least OP started a cool thread this time. |

Sure! Here's a huge discussion in the archives.

Looks like they have kits in stock. I guess I don't really need to pay my car insurance that badly... |

I tend to buy from him if he has what I need - regardless of the fact he doesn't update his website much. Primarily he sells on GunBroker and over the phone. |

vz.59 is way cooler

View Quote Honestly the only part of that design I love are the push-through belts. I sold my Vz.59 (semi auto from MarColMar) but I kept almost all of the belts and cans. I'll eventually make some hybrid design that uses them. With the Vz.61 I love the whole design! |

I'll accept this. One could make a good case for the CZ-75, but there's no doubt the vz. 61 is a fine firearm and one of their best.

When I worked at TGI, we had 2 post May Czech UK59 mg's. Fun as hell to fire. Easy to maintain. The 16" barrels for them were a blast.

Shot one with a fun switch at Battlefield Vegas, more fun than an MP5, yes I said that.

The VZ61 is cool.
The CZ 75 is better. But this... The Model SS41 - A Czech Bullpup Anti-Tank Rifle for the SS Is the coolest gun the Czechs ever made. |
|
In the post-JMB era, the Czechs have done the lion's share of the heavy lifting involved with small arms development. (The Stoner AR15 system being the one big exception).
VZ.61 is a fantastic little design. The mechanical RoF reduction system is brilliant. The chambering sucks, but was as good as something in that size envelope was going to do back then. The designers understood what a PDE was supposed to be... as close as you can to a pistol to carry, as close as you can to a rifle in effectiveness. |
|
Agreed OP. I'd take a Skorpion over a Scorpion Evo abomination any day of the week.
|
|
Can you have the pistol with the folding stock like that, or does it have to be registered as a SBR I assume?
|
|
I have to admit I would like to have one
Just not super high on my list |

Fail.
VZ52/57 light machinegun --drum or mag-fed mini UK59 chambered in 7.62x45 Would have eaten the RPD alive |

Shooting the Czech vz61 Skorpion: Machine Pistol or PDW? Ian said he loved it and it was one his favorite guns to shoot. I was surprised as I had always thought it was kind of a toy: not very powerful, too big to be a pistol, too small to be a good SMG. But I have never even seen one in person. |
|
Quoted: One has to wonder why it was made in .32 acp however. View Quote IIRC, the requirements for the gun included very small dimensions and low weight. Nothing around at the time that was any more powerful could have been made to fit and/or safely operate. Also remember that .32ACP (7.65 Browning) was considered a perfectly acceptable service sidearm cartridge in Europe right on up through the 1980s. |

When I was in high school, I was obsessed with getting one. I moved to the U.S. and eventually these came to market. I've SBR'd 3 of them. No recoil. Interesting ejection straight up. Very fun gun. I have two parts kits and semi auto receivers for when the registry opens up. Yeah, I know, pipe dream.
