Guess that settles it. The chicken prices do come before the egg.

Because the government forced many places to kill off a shit ton of chickens. Or so I read.

Might be a good time to buy, shrink wrap and freeze.
Wasn't that long ago they were $4 a lb. Buffalo chicken wings are always a fan favorite. |
|
Last I checked at Sam's, $28.00 for 10 lbs. Two fucking eighty per lb, that's a big No from me.

|
I checked Meijer and they are $8 for a normal price of $15 package

March Madness is over. Bars and home parties consume a lot of wings. This is the valley following the peak.

You mean the thing that happens at the end of the NFL season is when chicken wings are the most in demand? Crazy talk!

I picked up about 20 pounds of thighs for under a buck a pound at Sams Club a few weeks ago.
Chicken is chicken as long as it's dark meat. I did notice after I had purchased the thighs, Walmart had quarters that didn't meet first quality standards (small/broken bone/excess fat) for 59 cents a pound. Had I not been heading north I would have stocked up... Keep an eye out for sales and don't be picky on the part. It all seasons the same.... |

An acquaintance of mine has worked with Pilgrims Pride for a long time. He said that until the late 80s they could barely give wings away. Then the buffalo wings thing got popular and they’ve been making good money from them ever since.

Buy them cheap and stack them deep!
Back a couple years ago they were having a bit of a shortage around here and I saw wings for $7.99 a pound. |

Now go buy them all then pile them on your comforter in your bedroom

Eggs were $8.50/dozen. Aldi is coming to town and prices are starting to drop. |

Or so I read. All I k ow is that if I had a huge chicken farm, and a government guy said I will need to throw away my harvest.. I would kill a shit load of them and take to market in some sort of loophole. Or we have a chicken surplus during a mass kill off because of bird flu. Which seems odd. |

Last week bought 5 pound bags of wings for about $6. Was wondering why prices dropped.

De-boned wings are the 2nd best cut of chicken. De-boned thighs are tier 1. |

It was all those lazy fuckers that we're not laying enough eggs.

People are finally waking up to the fact that they're trash. Good.

What amazes me about a pack of wings is that it took one chicken to produce just two small wings. That's a relatively small contribution from the rest of the bird. A 24-pack of wings used 12 chickens. That's a lot of chickens to produce the bazillions of wings we eat.
