Was produced by a YouTube musician doing a sponsored commercial thing for Ernie Ball basses.
The two dudes in the pizza shop are a worthy honorable mention and easily beat that Weezer abomination from a few years ago, but this one has everything: AFRICA (Toto) - Cover by Jonathan Young, Caleb Hyles & RichaadEB Solid groove, great bass line with nice fills, a quality guitar solo, and near elite vocal range... |

I like those guys on the ship version
"Africa" by Toto, Performed by the Crew of the Bourbon Peridot, West Africa 2013. |

Africa Toto - andy macke |

First guys sounds like every cover ever. Too much of everything and dull voices. Meh.
Nothing beats the original. Quoted: Pretty decent... is this the same dude that does the Arfcom Social Media Video stuff? https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/75325/Screenshot_20220815-230555_Chrome-2490891.jpg View Quote Attached File |

I thought for sure it was going to be the cover by Leo Morricolli(sp?) aka leap frog studios.

The version in the OP is a hot mess of steamy dog crap It's always been one of my top 5 favorite songs and I don't think I've heard a cover yet that's done it justice.
I actually didn't mind the Weezer version, mainly because I'm a huge Weird Al fan...lol This has still got to me my favorite remix of it. Failed To Load Title |

I liked OPs cover more than weezers… but weezers is pretty damn good too. Neither is better than the original.
View Quote Cool cover. Nice vocals. Different energy than the original. I still like the original better. Not sure I like it more than weezers… but I’m not huge into metal. |

The original hooked me with the deep four part harmony that just rang.
This was a good cover but didn't deliver for me on what I see as the core. It was a great sauce, but I didn't get much steak. |

In thinking about this further, I think the last great cover Leo did, at least that I've heard, was probably his cover of Careless Whisper in January of 2018. Careless Whisper (metal cover by Leo Moracchioli feat. Jørgen Munkeby from Shining) |

View Quote This one. I would love on a original Ernie Ball bass TBH. |
|
It's not entirely accurate, but at least they're trying to replicate what Toto was doing on the chorus instead of completely pussing out with weak ass harmonies |
