Yeah it was always fun running up to the back of one in the summer in Lejeune or Okinawa and having that blast of heat hit you the face in 100 degree weather. |

That was impressive, like watching someone’s house do gymnastics. |

Did the pilot do that to redirect the rotor wash away from the guys with the parachutes?

I never really thought about it before Trump started building everything out, but the entire operation is pretty dumbass for a country that has its hands in pretty much everything on the planet.. I spose that's what you get when you've got managed morons in the office eh? |

Helipads, like runways, have standards they have to meet including friction testing. Our helidecks on the oil rigs were concrete covered and had to be periodically inspected and certified and during typhoon season they'd put netting on them to increase the coefficient of friction (they had to be tested with the netting too). There were other tests as well including ensuring water shedding, etc. I'm sure there are people here who know far more about than I ever will who could better address it. |

The fairings above the main gear are filled with stuff. One side is the APU and the other side is other stuff. I would bet all my money that the president will never ride in a v22 or any other chopper than a sea king, Blackhawk, or s92 from hmx1. I think a helipad is lame. Anybody can build a helipad, it takes actual skill and thought to land a chopper in the same spot on grass without killing the perfectly maintained grass. It’s more elegant and harder to do, thus more exclusive. https://i.ibb.co/9MKYPXv/IMG-0097.jpg Actually a pretty cool take ngl |

Landing in the grass has never made sense to me. We’ve spent way more on way less, regardless of how it’s getting “paid for”. I think it’s long past over do to update some of these things. It’s about time a few things get modernized. Crazy how much of our shit is getting old. Not just talking about bridges and roads. Even infrastructure to deal with the president is pretty odd that you think about it. Think about how old the helicopters are. Look how the aircraft are. It’s all old shit. I know they’re working on updating that but umpteen years later a billions over budget shit still ain’t done. Our Commander Chief does do some wtf sometimes, but he is definitely a get er done kind of guy, even if people don’t like the means of how it gets done. |

This is quite possibly the very best thing to come out of DC in the last 60 years in my opinion. We have finally potentially begun a real oof ramp for Social Security in the future. Everyone should be tickled absolutely pink about the fact that is finally happening. Trump accounts that is. It’s a start and a start that’s desperately needed. Trump did not come up with the account idea by the way. I’m 97% sure that some of the folks that do stuff with Bogle foundation did hatched the idea a while back. It’s been a while since I listened to that podcast where they talked about the origins. Regardless, this is a pretty phenomenal thing. It might be the only real shot we ever have at actually meaningfully reducing entitlement spending and having an offramp from the socialist tendencies and promises that the American public has been given about payment from the government in the form of Social Security. I absolutely love the idea of let’s expand prosperity through ownership rather than just continually giving shit away. The next piece of this puzzle is better financial literacy. Maybe through technology in these platforms they can have some mini lessons that’s easily digestible that people can get an ounce of financial literacy early in the game of life. Voted for the man three times (would do it again given the circumstances of choices) and I’ve been one of his biggest critics for some of the stupidity has been engaged in. Kids retirement accounts in the first year of life may be one of the very best things that ever gets done in this country. A legit way to move the needle on the future. A way to grow an inflation protect the money. A concept that seems so foreign in DC for a very long time. |

Now that I think about it I'm kinda surprised there is not already a dedicated, full sized hard material pad there. IMHO if the White House can control themselves and keep the gold out of it , it's sure gonna look nice in granite with the Seal. Another example of President Trump leaving something in much better condition than he found it. |

The old landings are slower and take some time. The new pad will allow the pilot to land like a medivac.![]() WOW: The BEST Marine One Landing You May Ever See ![]() Medical helicopter lands at crash scene on U.S. 30 |
