???? 16 Spitfires Flying Together, The Sound of Victory " Goosebumps " ????

I know a lot of us have a soft spot for the mustang but for me it's the SPITFIRE

Close Second to the p-51 in terms of looks.

The ‘stang is more agressive looking

Spitfire VS Corsair is a very tough choice looks wise

I don't.  The Spitfire is a nice looking fighter for sure but I'm more of a F4 U Corsair or P 40 man myself.

The P51 was a useless piece of junk. I'm surprised anyone racked-up a single kill in that deathbox.

Spitfire was beautiful, as was the Hurricane.

However, nothing beats the Brewster F2A Buffalo -- universally regarded as the most beautiful, graceful airplane ever made.

The Spitfire is a beautifully graceful airplane, while the Mustang is more aggressive looking.   However the FW190 D is absolutely lethal in looks.

Yeah but the macchi 202 is even better looking imo

The Spitfire is a beautiful aircraft. But I'm a P40 fan.
Told the wife, I win crazy money on Powerball.  I'm buying a P40. And a tank.

Agreed. A beautiful plane.  Even as a kid building models it had a quality that just grabbed your attention.

Yeah, there are several of those videos, just Google 'DeFord Spitfire'.
I watched him build it from when was just a pile of plywood, aluminum, steel, and a set of plans...

I would have cheated and made the control surfaces a little bigger, without all the armor and guns, it would handle like a boss.

The Zero was actually pretty bad ass; almost a quantum leap in development of the fighter plane, and aircraft in general (IIRC, was the first to use what have come to be known as 7000-series aluminum zinc alloys).  The plane was remarkably formidable...at least until we set several thousand men to the task of making a machine to kill it, specifically (Hellcat).

My neighbor, Larry Forrester (Tora, Tora, Tora,) crashed three of them during the Battle Of Britain, before his wings were yanked.

They told him 'you're helping the Germans more than us.'

It was probably for the better.

Agree. I like the Spitfire, it's got clean lines.
But I also like the P51 Mustang, the Corsair & the P38 Lightning.
I also like the lines of the Me109.

Since I don't fly, this is no commentary on performance just on looks.

Arguably the finest looking plane ever to come out of Britain.

Our best looker? The Eagle. or the sled.

Not talking about anything but looks.

I like the Spitfire but the Mustang is number one.
And not to forget the P40, P47 and Corsair.
As for the axis, the BF109 and Fw190 were good looking aircraft.

And then the Zero's wings started falling off after the war... still, a bad ass airplane.

It wasn't until we got one to test that we really learned how to kill it.

The P-51 is a beautiful airplane from every angle except the rear quarters; the scoop blends in with the after part of the fuselage to give it a real slabsided appearance.

The Spitfire doesn’t have a bad angle.
