My local store's little bourbon club had an “All Weller” drawing last Saturday. Never thought I would see the day that I would be kinda disappointed to draw a Full Proof....jaded I guess...but I was hoping to draw a CYPB or a Single Barrel (those I need to complete the Weller Rainbow)

Stopped at one of the small local stores yesterday after work and talked with the owner for a minute. He says their distributor is making the small stores pick up their orders. Then when they show up there's a long line of vehicles to get into the place and the orders haven't been picked yet. The wait this week was 3 hours for him, he's kinda pissed. He did have some EHT Small Batch for $70, I have several so I passed but then spotted the Old Fitz 7 year. Snagged one for $64 and corked it last night - I really like the Old Fitz, wish I could find it more often. I did ask the owner about Weller FP, he said he's seen 3 bottles since covid so no luck on my rainbow. |

hey guys, local estate has a ton of old decanters. Im going tomorrow to take pictures and see what is still full- ive been advised there are ALOT of them. Initial pics look to be older Beam and Ezra Brooks. Anyone interested if I can get some of them at decent prices? |

| Made an Old Fashioned tonight with WSR and a premade Woodford Reserve syrup mix. I've had lots of the "premade" cocktails but I think they nailed the balance with sweet and bitters. It was really good! |

Attached File Rare Breed for sure Wild Turkey 101 is also one of the single most underrated bottles and it’s $20-$25 Also, not a bourbon but pick up a bottle of Stranahan’s and taste the wonder of American Single Malt |

Picked up two bottles today.. still hunting some Weller Antique 107 if any GA bros knows of some in the ATL/ROS/ALPHA area... Been seeing a few Weller FP here and there $100-115. These were both around $45 ea.. $102 with tax all-in.

The higher proof point makes a big difference in depth of flavors. Old Fitz 7 year bonded isn't exactly inexpensive at $60-70, but it blows away standard Larceny. Costco in Lexington, KY had at least one pallet of this spring's release for $52 3 weeks ago. I think it was $60 at Evan Williams Experience and Heaven Hill Bourbon Heritage Center. They had plenty at both locations. Blade and Bow is $45-50 and widely available. I like it, even if it contains less than 0.0001% of Stitzel Weller bourbon. Part of their marketing hype is that their solera aging and batching process ensures each bottle contains some small amount of Stitzel Weller (wheated) bourbon from the 80s-90s. I did not care for the Blade and Bow 12 year. It is a blend of cognac, port, and Bordeaux finished bourbons and costs about $20 more. Weller Special Reserve (green label) should be under $40 and is becoming more available. It is young, cut (with water), and subject to hype, but it isn't bad at its price point. If you try some, it will help you appreciate Weller Antique (red label, older and 107 proof) that is pictured throughout this thread when you try it. |
