So I've read this short story a few times. Last night I was on Prime and stumbled upon a movie based on the story. Stars Casper Van Dien, Judd Nelson and Tom Berenger. It's probably terrible, but I've always wanted to see a remake of the original.

Anyone seen it?

I have not.  I watched the old one recently and was actually just thinking I'd like to see a good remake of it.

Is that the story where they hunt humans?

I think I remember reading that when I was younger.

RiffTrax has the 1932 original, and this gem from the '80s:

which is basically an amalgamation of "The Most Dangerous Game" and "First Blood."

Isn't there a new miniseries with one of the Hemsworths and Hans Landa?

Good story that I liked a lot when I got this (1957) book back during jr. high. Apart from the inaccurate photo on the cover (so what), it contained other stories besides Richard Connell's title story, which were simply classics; from several, movies were made: Leiningen Versus the Ants (Carl Stephenson), Journalism in Tennessee (Mark Twain), ALone in Shark Waters (John Kruse), RIKKI-TIKKI-TAVI (Kipling), To Build A Fire (London), Locomotive 38, The Ojibway (William Saroyan), High Air (Borden Chase), and The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty (Thurber). A great buy for $0.50 back then!

That was surprisingly good. Interesting, funny and graphic.

Pretty good, loose (in my opinion) adaptation. I’m just now getting to the ‘most dangerous game’ section of the story..eta this is not a film/tv series adaptation. Just a variant

King Kong was running behind on production with the special effects so they shot this movie at the same time to offset production costs of King Kong

Fay Wray was a smoke-show back in her day. Forget the ape, she stands on her own.

Also check out a 1974 made for TV movie “Savages” with Andy Griffith and Sam Bottoms. It’s a human hunting story but not as a game.
