At one time, I thought I was.  Born and raised Methodist. In retrospect, I was a believer in who I thought Christ to be, not who He truly was.

I went to a Catholic school in the 60's and remember marching around the school, with all the windows open and one of the priests leading us all through this over the loudspeakers.
Nobody will be coming to save you, plan accordingly.

I had a box with brochures that I used to hand out, including a stack of brochures on the Rosary.  They got damaged in the rain.  Since I was burning a bunch of stuff on Saturday, I put them on the burn pile.  The flames got up to at least 12'.  Yesterday, my kids found this remnant on top of the ash pile.

For those who don't know what it is, it's an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary holding the child Jesus and handing the Rosary to St. Dominic.

Love it. I had a classmate lose their farm house to a fire while they were away and only an old family Bible was left unscathed. The shelf and all the other books were burnt down to ash.

For our nation.

Mary Immaculate, living tabernacle of the Divinity, where the eternal Wisdom lies hidden to be adored and served by angels and men; Queen of heaven and of earth, beneath whose sway are subject all things that are lower than God; Patroness of the United States of America, sorrowful and mindful of our own sinfulness and the sins of our nation, we come to thee, our refuge and hope.

Knowing that our country cannot be saved by our own works, and mindful of how much our nation has departed from the ways of thy Son, we humbly ask that thou wouldst turn thine eyes upon our country to bring about its conversion.
- Father Chad Ripperger

We consecrate to thee the integrity of the upcoming election and its outcome, so that what is spiritually and morally best for the citizens of our country may be accomplished, and that all of those who are elected would govern according to the spiritual and moral principles which will bring our nation into conformity with the teachings of thy Son.

Give grace to the citizens of this land so that they will choose leaders according to the Sacred Heart of thy Son, that His glory may be made manifest, lest we be given the leaders we deserve.

Trusting in the providential care of God the Father and thy maternal care, we have perfect confidence that thou wilt take care of us and will not leave us forsaken. O Mary Immaculate, pray for us. Amen. - Father Chad Ripperger

A Rosary in a Year podcast started on January 1st, with Fr. Mark-Mary Ames. It slowly introduces how to pray the Rosary.

It available on the Ascension App, Apple podcasts, and on Youtube. They also have a prayer guide book available for sale and a free prayer plan guide on pdf.  I'm watching on youtube because it is easier for me on a computer than a small phone.

The Ascension app also has full "Rosaries" you can pray along with right now that are separate from the Rosary in a Year podcast

So two points.

Jesus does NOT condemn meaningful repetition.  Since the rosary is largely made up of scripture (Hail Mary is from Luke 1), you can not say it is vain unless you are claiming scripture is vain.

Revelation 4:6-8, the Lord receives never ending repetitious prayer around His throne.

And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: 7the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight. 8And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say,

“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,
who was and is and is to come!”

Is this vain repetition or meaningful repetition?

View Quote

Those creatures do not have free will, and were made to make a repetitious prayer.

From us, God ants what's in our hearts. We all created to be different, with different emotions, different ways of speaking. He wants us to come to Him as we are, different one from the other, to talk to Him.

He is our Father in heaven. Would you wish for your children, created by God, with different mindsets and different personalities, to come and speak to you in repetitive phrases, every single time they came to you? Just repeating words on paper, over and over, never telling you in their words what's on their hearts or in their minds? I know I wouldn't. We are God's children, created in his image. Our healthy good thoughts, the ones that are not in violation of his laws or ordinances, are the same as His. Our desires, the same. Our love for Him, the same, although not greater.

Just as you want your children to have a meaningful conversation with you , so it is with God. Have a talk with your Father, not a prerecorded message. He wants you to tell him your hopes, your dreams, your desires, and your troubles, just as you want those things from your children.

Sure, brother. It's in Luke 1:48-49.

For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed;
49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.

I'm kind of a member of a generation of men.

How should we call her blessed?  Well, Elizabeth a few verses before this gives a fine example.

Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped for joy. 45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

I mean, Elizabeth cried out to her.  She questioned if she was worthy.  One could imagine tears in her eyes.  John the Baptist leaped for joy in the womb at only her voice.

So my praise for her is sadly tame in comparison.
View Quote

That simply says she is blessed to have been chosen to be his human mother. It does not say we are to pray to her. She is not a goddess. She is the same as the rest of us. She has no power of intervention. Jesus is our our intercessor, the only one we need to talk to to have our prayers heard by God.

Mary, though highly regarded, offers no role in our salvation. She was chosen to fulfill a role, to bring Jesus into the world, and to raise and teach him. She fulfilled that role splendidly , and was blessed for it. She is rewarded for that. She will have a large role in heaven after our judgement. But, she, not being a deity, will still have to go through judgement just as all humans. She'll get in of course, because she was a devout believer and fulfilled her role.

Jesus is our one and only intercessor, unless you believe that He is not capable.

Romas 8:26-39

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

You're assuming formed prayers are all there is.  Regardless, you completely missed the point.

Sure, brother. It's in Luke 1:48-49.

For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed;

No one said Mary is a goddess or a deity, or our savior.

This has been beaten to death in this thread and many others, read back if you would like to, or keep vainly repeating the same disingenuous argument.

The major strawman in your post, around which most of the criticism is constructed, is that Catholics believe that communication with God consists of thoughtless, heartless, rote prayers.  That premise is false.

Where does it say they do not have freewill?

Do the angels not have free will?  Satan and the angels with him chose to sin against God. (2 Peter 2:4)

First, you’re arguing a point I never made. One can pray to God and speak whatever reverent words they wish to ask of Him or to praise Him. My argument was against the insinuation that saying something like the Our Father was “vain” repetition, which it is not.

More over, what I would call meaningful repetition is extremely Biblical. Repetition occurs many times in Psalms, phrases repeated over and over again. Jesus used repetition in prayer: “And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words” Mark 14:39.  And lastly, the point you’ve mentioned already, heavenly creatures are repeating the same prayer nonstop around the throne.

No one thinks she is a goddess or deity, knock it off with that.

Do the prayers of others, especially those of the righteous, hold more weight?  The Bible certainly claims so.

13 “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” James 5

Who more righteous to ask God on our behalf than the glorified Blessed Mother of our Lord?

I think you are confusing intercessor and mediator.

1 Timothy 2:5 says there is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.

The passage you quoted clearly states the Holy Spirit is an intercessor and that Christ is ALSO an intercessor.

Guess I will share my story here.

My wife and I have been married for 15 years. She has struggled with depression for a majority of that and it progressively got worse. This had a big impact on our marriage. She would be deeply in love with me for like a couple weeks then back to I don't love you for a a couple weeks, then neutral for months. She didn't feel love for me or the kids and was just numb to the world. Her depression kept getting worse and deeper as time went on. She didn't understand why she was feeling this way, I was a great husband she lived a great life she just didn't feel happiness or love for anything or anyone. This went on for close to 14 years.
About 3 years ago my wife started reading a lot of self help books and growth books. She started writing her prayers in a notebook every night for a few hours pleading with God to help me grow stronger in Mormonism, I had been growing stagnant in it just going through the motions due to me not believing it. About a year and a half ago she stopped believing in Mormonism and we both left together. I started doing a ton of research on where to go, we were going to 2 different protestant Churches. 1 Saturday night,  and 1 Sunday morning. I found my self in Catholicism and started going to daily mass and still the Protestant Churches with my wife and kids.
My wife started seeing a therapist and psychiatrist and got diagnosed with trifecta adhd and severe depression.they started prescribing medication for her and some of it started helping a little. Then my wife had a bad episode of depression. She felt like God was telling her to kill herself. She's not suicidal at all, she texted me when I was at work and asked for me to lock the guns up. She said she is not suicidal but doesn't want to get to the point where she is and have them available. She understood how people could do it when before she never understood it. This shook me to my core and I went home and locked all the guns in the safe, she isn't able to open the safe. At this time I wasn't praying the Rosary yet but I was watching a lot of Gabiafterhours on YouTube and he is big on 4 Rosaries a day. The next day I started praying 4 rosaries a day for my wife with the intentions that she be blessed with happiness and love. The next day my wife started getting a lot better and as the weeks went by even better. I've been doing 3-4 Rosaries a day for her since and we are coming up on almost 9 months.

I have never seen my wife so happy or have so much love and it is growing everyday. Even with her family disowning her for leaving Mormonism amd struggling with her belief in God.Thanks be to God and our Blessed Mothers intercession. She has been doing multiple Rosaries a day now as well and is feeling a draw to our Lady. She is enjoying Mass and going through OCIA with me for an Easter Baptism.
