Attached File The rosary is a meditative prayer of the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through the eyes of His mother; ending with her being reunited with Him in heaven, just as we all hope to be. The Holy Rosary In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. And thinking that he was in the company, they came a day's journey, and sought him among their kinsfolks and acquaintance. And not finding him, they returned into Jerusalem, seeking him. And it came to pass, that, after three days, they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his wisdom and his answers. And seeing him, they wondered. And his mother said to him: Son, why hast thou done so to us? behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said to them: How is it that you sought me? did you not know, that I must be about my father's business? And they understood not the word that he spoke unto them. | The thing with the Rosary is it's not just mindless babble of repetition. You're literally meditating on the Life Death and Resurrection of Jesus. You're putting yourself in those moments and watching/reflecting on them. And you're doing these things through the eyes and heart of Mary. You're putting yourself there when Gabriel announced to Mary that she would birth the Messiah. You're watching as he's at the pillar being scourged, then the Crown of thorns is placed and he's carrying his cross. You're there at the foot of the cross as he breathes his last breath. You're there at Pentecost when he sends down the Holy Spirit like fire. I try and go thru at least all the Joyfull, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries everyday. |

I don’t think you sat down, read the Bible, and came up with every single dogmatic position you hold on your very own from a clean slate. No, you were taught theological doctrines from a line of predecessors, one after another, sometimes changing what they believed over time, going back to whatever date they split from the Catholic Church. But let’s say you in general, because really, something you may read tomorrow may now cause you to deny your denomination’s interpretation. Therefore, it really is down to your authority in what you believe. I believe the Holy Spirit sustains and preserves the Catholic Church. And I am like the Eunuch, and the Church is like St. Philip. They have been entrusted by Jesus since St. Peter to guide His sheep into all truth. |

The rejection of bishops, of the Eucharist, etc. It is arrogant to be confident in our judgement and salvation, and those who would give false belief in the ease of salvation are either incompetent, ignorant, or evil. Arrogance is a daughter of Pride, and we all know how Pride works. |

I think those that affirm the creedal statements of the early Church all share a degree of the same belief, though maybe not in the fullness of the Truth. Any where we might disagree, I pray truly...if I am wrong in something, Lord show me my error and bring me closer to You ...and if you are wrong, that the Lord reveals that error to you as well. Should I rely on the Bible alone to know what is needed to be saved or do I also need to believe in and follow the teachings of the Catholic Church? If the Bible were sufficient in itself, then there wouldn't be as many interpretations as there are men. The Church is the mooring line for the faith, to hold scripture to it's roots. Without that line there is no end to the disunity, religious entropy, the house is swept away by the world. The Ark is a hard in or out, there aren't 100,000 lifeboats scattered about the sea. 'But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. ' (1 Timothy 3:15) The Church is the mystical body of Christ of which He is the head, with the Holy Ghost as its soul, it was founded by Christ so that His ministry would live on in perpetuity. 'And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (St Matthew 16:18) 'And I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Paraclete, that he may abide with you for ever. '(St John 14:16) 'But the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you. '(St John 14:26) 'But when the Paraclete cometh, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall give testimony of me. '(St John 15:26-27) The giving of keys signifies making someone their vicar to act in their capacity while they, the authority figure, are away. The keys were specifically given to Peter, the prince of the apostles. The argument could be made that this didn’t apply to his successors, but then that would mean Christ made promises He could not keep, which would mean He wasn’t divine. Peter was chosen by God to be Christs vicar on earth, and those keys are passed on through the “house” of God until the end of time. God the Father to Christ, and Christ the Father to Peter… 'And I will clothe him with thy robe, and will strengthen him with thy girdle, and will give thy power into his hand: and he shall be as a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Juda. And I will lay the key of the house of David upon his shoulder: and he shall open, and none shall shut: and he shall shut, and none shall open. And I will fasten him as a peg in a sure place: and he shall be for a throne of glory to the house of his father. And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, divers kinds of vessels, every little vessel: from the vessels of cups even to every instrument of music. Every Catholic doctrine can be traced from now back to the beginning, although magnified, they are the same. Christ founded the Catholic Church, He didn't found new churches in the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, or 21st centuries, He founded one Church. If you called yourself Christian from 33 AD to 1000 (ish) AD you were Catholic, then Catholic or Eastern Orthodox for another 500 years. Any belief outside of the Catholic Church is a novelty and is diminished truth or contrary to truth. God is truth, of which there can be only one, to believe in a different truth is to believe in a different god. If the Catholic Church is wrong, then Christ couldn't keep His promises and His Church failed in the first generation of Christians and died with the Apostles only to somehow be resurrected 1500 years later by a man possessed by Satan. After which Christendom shattered and turned into the woke, perverted, degenerate, fallen, inverted world we see today. |

The Bible contains all truth that is necessary for Salvation, it is sufficient in truth, but the Church is the arbiter of that truth. 'the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. ' (1 Timothy 3:15) The faith is "faithfully passed on", that is tradition. Paul teaches Scripture and Tradition, in a time where only the Old Testament and several Epistles existed. If we are our own arbiters of truth then we are only worshiping the god within. What did Christians do before the Bible? The first book was written 20 + years after the death of our Lord, generations passed before there was a Bible. They worshiped God via the sacrifice of the Mass, the oblation, the everlasting covenant. |

You do make a great point though, Prayer does not equal Worship. He isn't wrong in that repetition doesn't equal vain repetition. Just because it's repetitious doesn't mean it's vain. Just to clear something up; the repetitious Hail Mary's are meditative. They are repetitious so that they can be meditative, so that you can lose yourself in the previously stated Mystery of Christ while you are reciting them almost unconsciously. They are the silver to the gold. |

Scripture uses the word "brother" just as loosely regarding blood relatives, cousins, and brothers in religion as we do; you called me "brother" just one post ago. Regardless of that, that verse does not say they are Mary's if in fact they were to be Josephs, some subscribe to that theory, some do not, but it isn't necessary either way. What is known is that the early Christians believed in the perpetual virginity of Mary and that tradition was faithfully handed down through the generations.
