Regardless of the technical details, this is not good.
NBC News obtained a photo showing results of a test on a steel wall prototype. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/test-steel-prototype-border-wall-showed-it-could-be-sawed-n956856 |
yeah, but it funnels them into one place and shows where they cross.
your gun safe could easily be cut through with a cutoff tool (see youtube). You still use a safe. |
I like the walls the Izzys build around the Palestinian cities and villages.
I'm sure your garden variety political refugee could accomplish that is 30 minutes with a hacksaw blade and some duct tape.
Neat, now lace that concrete with high explosives. Should solve that cutting torch and sawzall problem.
People have broken out of prisons in the past, does that mean we should just let them all go?
NBC said that did they? I wonder what "common tools" they were referring to because that pic looks like it took a fucking plasma cutting torch
I'm curious how "common industrial tools" and a source of power arrive at the border?
That article is severely lacking in facts and very rich in political manipulation. |

Barrier = force mulitplier.
A barrier with zero force still yields zero force. A wall with a little bit of force yields a shitload of force. |
FNBC
Hated them since they faked pickups exploding in fireballs Lying POS commies. ETA: did Brian Williams witness the test? |
The libs will say they should lift the shutdown, and spend more time on a better design before funding is authorized.
Sawing through the wall should release the pit bulls, wolves and coyotes to feast on those doing the sawing.
Put an 8' chain link fence 25' away from the wall. Patrolled by packs of "rescue pit bulls".
As soon as they poke their face through any breech... Nom nom nom |
I'd like to see and NBC news anchor try to cut it, with any tool. Thatd be humorous.

A welder with some angle iron could turn the wall into a ladder on the Mexican side.

A quickie saw with the right blade can get through just about anything.. they'll probably hit them with vehicles, build tunnels, or climb them with ladders....
The wall is a deterrent, not a be-all, end-all. Wall + patrol would be a hell of a lot more effective than no wall. |

FAKE NEWS.
That was a cutting torch they used, besides WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? So we go back to reinforced concrete. No problem, thanks for pointing that out. |
Do we trust the Fake News to report honestly and accurately on an issue they are not in favor of?
Because I don't. That could be a manufacturer supplied cutaway demo for all we know. |
Very easy to put sensors along the wall to detect physical attacks on the infrastructure.
The DEMS would be cutting it open for them who are we fooling.

Concrete wall View Quote LOL at concrete being cheaper; not out in the middle of nowhere it isn't. It's far slower too, for you "we need a wall yesterday" guys. The only guys slipping through tiny cracks one at a time are drug mules; that's all that is cost-effective. Even half ass patrols will keep vehicle-sized breaches from flowing or being created. Make a second fence behind this one, the effect is exponential (you need a lot more gas & torches, which is more money & labor costs, and less space for cargo.) Use this fence as rebar for a future reinforcement, I say. We should also give 50% of all aid to Mexico in the form of a similar fence on their southern border, and its maintenance until crossings drop. That's making Mexico pay for a border wall. |

What we need is to get the engineers who designed the berlin wall. Those fuckers knew how to keep people from getting through. One thing the GDR learned was that a mere physical barrier wasn't effective. It has to be backed up with a lethal deterrent. Back then that meant soldiers with guns and no man's land with landmines and dog runs. But with today's technology, I think electronic sensors paired with weaponized drones would be cheaper and more effective.

When I was working near the boarder a local said to me, " For every million dollar solution the US develops the Mexicans have a $.10 fix."
Not saying we shouldn't try. |

Physical barriers are only there to delay and channel.
It must be monitored and have a QRF. But its 1000 times better than nothing. I'd rather have the "common migrant" lunging around plasma torches in the desert than cocaine or who knows what. |
Democrats will open holes in the wall in all the popular crossing areas whenever they have the majority.

The wall is essential but we need to remove the incentives for coming here. Get rid of any assistance to illegals: no free medical, no free schooling, no free food, nothing. If we catch you here illegally there should be harsh sentencing vs the bs “here’s a notice to show up for court. Now be on your way good sir/senorita.”
