Well, I couldn't help myself. After driving a beater pickup for 6 months car payment free, I had to go and get myself back into some debt. But this is by far the nicest vehicle I've ever owned.

2015 Tundra SR5 4.6 4x4 with 42k miles. Should make those trips to the motocross track much more comfy.

Decided to level the truck (+1" taller rear block), remove the ridiculously large air dam, and slap on a set of 33's.

Looks clean! I removed the lower portion of the valance/dam on my silverado and it made a huge difference in appearance, I think.

two road trips at 75mph I got 18.2 and 18.4 mpg.

Around town / commute driving I average 16.5-17.5 mpg.

Biggest effect has been the absurd temps, when its above 60 deg the mpg goes up.

no loss in power, really won't see that until 35's. I have the 3.55 rear as well.

eta: not sure of what a road trip would be mpg wise - but the week it was stock back in December I  was at 18.5mpg around town, so I guess a 1-2mpg loss

Thanks. I know we have different trucks, but was curious. After half a tank and just a few quick trips on highway for 1 or 2 exits, Im getting right at 17 according to the trucks computer. Im also pretty sure I can feel just a slight loss of acceleration/power, but maybe Im babying it because of the new tires.

Thanks! Decided on the Hostiles since I wanted a small center cap and exposed lug nuts (the huge ones on most of rims look cheap to me) and the fact that 90% of trucks run Fuels or MotoMetals lol. Once I saw the Sprockets I knew those were the right ones.

Bought my new daily driver last weekend.

1-owner 2013 Silverado 1500 4x4 with 46k miles. It's the Work Truck model so it has the vinyl flooring and cloth seats, but it's got power windows, power locks, tilt/cruise, power heated mirrors, and keyless entry.

5.3L w/ 6 speed auto and G80 auto locking rear
HD cooling package
Z85 suspension package

It came with fairly new Wrangler Duratracs, MBRP dual split exhaust, and a TruXport tonneau cover. I added the Rugged rear wheel well liners and a Rough Country 2" level kit this weekend.

I’ve noticed that too. My local dealers seem to keep some in stock. Ford had a single cab F250 on display amongst the cowboy cadillacs at the Chicago Auto Show. If I didn’t have a wife and dog, I’d have a regular cab.

I've always been a fan of short wheelbase/long bed trucks. You get a lot more capability and maneuverability and they're significantly cheaper.

My 1st gen Tundra was like that and it was actually a very capable half-ton.

My 3rd gen Cummins dually is single-cab too, like it even better it's a really big single cab with lots of room behind the seats, 2.5t payload, and it's great towing especially when I've got to park a trailer someplace tight.

Nice! That's my favorite body type. I want that configuration but in the Alpha trim with a Duramax. Not sure they ever made any like that, and I couldn't afford one anyway. But it would be sweet.

Got my TRD wheels finally. Really improves the look of the truck.

thank ye.  humvee ownership is truly for the dedicated.  the father in law sold us a 2008 duramax for stupid cheap a few years ago, its too nice and low miles and wife uses it mainly to pull a trailer or buy shavings.

ive threatened to steal her drivetrain but she knows its a hollow threat.

the horsepower and torque is out of this world in a different league than 94 hmmwv with a 6.5.  but the vee fits comfortably like an old pair of crappy boots.  and its MINE.  no water bottles or doghair or pens laying around inside it when i go to drive it, because im the only one who drives it.

any body style other than softop costs almost as much as the initial cost of the whole humvee, so this one should be staying this way for quite some time.  it is often used for runs to lowes so the 7 foot bed comes in handy.  im collecting parts for a 4 speed conversion because topspeed is a high rpm 55mph currently.  but its a pretty involved process!

I'm not really one to mod my trucks...I did do a few minor things on my new truck though. I recently picked up a new '17 Ram 1500 with the 3.0L EcoDiesel. Pretty stock Big Horn package.

I was never a big fan of the grille inserts on my Big Horn package, so I swapped them out to the Laramie Limited mesh...added some OEM side view mirror chrome covers as well.

I'll admit that I'm not a chrome guy, but the truck came with some chrome accents stock. I feel the grille and the mirror covers complete the look.

After:

She's always wearing some LT rated Toyo Open Country ATII's...

For now...that's probably as "deep" as I'm going to go mod wise...

So a couple of weeks ago, I paid off the 5th wheel below, that I brought home last summer. I towed it all summer with the 2003 2500HD Diesel. Attachment Attached File

I told my wife when we bought it that as soon as it was paid off, "I'm getting a new truck. She agreed. So on the 10th I paid off the trailer, and on the 11th I bought this 3500. She's not even mad.
