If it was me, I'd get the salvation and buy the $5 CCU. Nobody really knows how valuable LTI will be in the end but I have it on everything. I went ahead and got a salvager and got my star kitten. 50%off is about what it takes to open my wallet these days. I think the salvation is going to be really good anyway so long as you have a cargo ship that can carry it. |

The Intrepid warbond package has 10 year insurance , a couple of paints, and a set of clothes. Not even the shitty Arden light armor they used to give out like it meant something. that should cover you 'til about 2040ish. But don't fool yourself. The Intrepid is a $65 token. A stepping stone into the CCU game. At 670,320 aUEC at the New Deal in Lorville, it's one of the cheapest in game ship purchases there is. Buy it, CCU it to something more useful and more expensive to purchase in-game, and-- if you really like it (Intrepid is my favored runabout) buy an in-game copy with a couple of hours of gameplay. |

If anyone is interested, the Asgard is in the game for around 18m UEC. I guess Cornerstone hadn't updated when I first checked after 4.4 because it was still showing it as not for sale. I just happened to hop over to Astro Armada at A18 while waiting to sell the rest of my gold and saw it was available. I also should not have flown the Carrack during the free fly. I love it, it's exactly what I want in an exploration/vibes ship. I don't "$600" love it, but I'm willing to spend 35m in-game on it

I could put my ATLS-Geo and my ROC in it with scu crates and just mine gems for days. I'd load up a 2scu crate with some hand tools, water, and food. I'd fly out to Pyro and go to Ignis or some of the other hot gem spots. Once I found gems I'd take out my Geo and crack them because it cracks the rocks faster, then go back to the ship for my ROC and suck them all up. When I was done mining I'd set a point and quantum out, stop, set another point and then quantum to try and keep myself in random space and then bed log. The next time I'd play the game just go back to the planet and start all over again. Once I got about 8 - 10scu of gems I'd fly in and sell them in Stanton. I gave me the vibe I wanted of being a loner in space just trying to make my way. I didn't have to go to any ports for anything other than to sell and then I was right back at it again. |

That's similar to what I do with my C2. I'll load it up with a Golem and a bunch of spare ore pods as well as a bunch of food and water (I know I can do the 2x Cruz Lux trick, but I like the immersion) and go into the Aaron Halo and just mine for a few days in the safety of deep space. Now that I bought a Salvation, I can do the same with that for panel salvage. As for the Asgard, I absolutely fell in love with it during ILW. I was running cargo contracts with it and would come screaming into the hangar and set it down while still moving and it handled it like a champ. It's one of the few ships above $250 or so on the RSI store that I wouldn't mind buying if my monthly budget would allow. I'll probably buy it in-game for now, but it seems like the sort of ship that doesn't hurt to have two of |
|
I hauled a 266scu, 9 contract run in my Asgard the other night. Could have carried another 30-40 if I could have gotten lucky with box sizes. And, yes, I bought an Asgard. After 10 years plus with the only change to my Cat being to make it LESS useful, I grabbed a $20 CCU to the Asgard. Of course, less than 12 hours later, I heard about the upcoming Cat rework. Ah, well, Gotta leave SOMEthing to work for in-game. Think that's where I'll stop, but you never know. I rented a C2 at the expo hall, and it's easy enough to load with the ATLS. But how is the ATLS STILL unable to shift or offload boxes? WTF?! Turns offloading into a chore. At 516scu, the Hull B is looking good enough that I banked a $5 Cutlass Red > Hull B CCU to lock the price prior to the increase. 512 is the upper end of what I could arduously load into the Cat. I won't even get starting on what they're doing to the D and E. |

Well, so much for exclusivity. Looks like ALL the previous BiS paints are for sale in the pledge shop. Trust CIG not to miss out on so much as a bent nickel if they have to dodge an oncoming train to grab it. I really like the game, but more and more, I loathe CIG. |

I don't fly my Connie much anymore but, that and the Cutlass Black are the two ships that I can't seem to bring myself to melt or upgrade...and my Mercury Star Runner. If you put attritions on the Connie she's still a beast in a fight. As a hauler she was one of the best but now the Raft surpasses her with the gold pass it got a while back. |

Well, my extended salvage/mining trips finally caught up to me. I've been going around in the Salvation scooping up the RMC off abandoned rentals and loading up my C2 with it. I finally maxed out available on-grid storage while still being able to also fit my ships in the cargo bay. I relocate the C2 to about 3Gm away from Crusader in a dense part of the Aaron Halo to keep my jumps short, figuring I'd go mining on Daymar. I jump to Daymar and set down by the wreck of the UEES Flyssa, figuring it's as good a jump-off point as any.... And while I'm trying to decide what direction to head off in, I 30k. I load back in and I'm in the last station I refueled at, Hur-L3. My C2, Salvation, Golem, and Roc all now show "stored", but show no location. All said and done, I'm out around 500-600k UEC of RMC (at the new and improved lower sell price), 4 Drake ore pods, plus another 100k UEC or so worth of gear and armor. Never change, star citizen. Never change. That was all my play time since Friday that disappeared like a fart in the wind

In case anybody's interested, the Ironclad is on Warbond sale today for (if I'm reading it correctly) 24 hours. $40 off, which includes CCUs. Turned my Reclaimer to Ironclad CCU into $10. |

Once I had a Connie completely loaded with goods that I had mined in my prospector and refined. Quant, Gold, mostly high value stuff since I don't refine low cost stuff. I was going in to land at Area 18. I was mere meters over the open hangar, starting my downward movement to set it down on the pad...when the game suddenly freezes. I finally get logged back in and I'm in a room in Area 18, my Connie is stored but the hull is completely empty. Same deal, hours and days of work just gone in 45 seconds. |

Yeah, that's a little rougher than mine. I'd have been a lot more upset if RMC was still selling for 10-11k UEC/scu, but I also would have probably had the boxes stored in a hangar before moving on to my next activity if that were the case. I keep myself sane by reminding myself that I didn't lose money on the RMC, I just wasted time. And the money lost on ore pods and gear was recovered with a single Nitrogen run, although I'm noticing that restock timers have been lengthened, restock amount reduced, and the buy/sell difference has been reduced, all combining to make commodity cargo not really worth it at this point. |
|
I'm a few hours into 4.5. As someone who doesn't do ship combat, engineering likely won't really affect me (although I like my new MFD screen and the ability to kill the copilot turrets on my C2, giving my pilot laser repeaters double the charge). I've noticed commodity prices across the board seem to be up considerably from 4.4 to the point where they're worth doing again. UEX's prices seem to be super wonky at the moment (it's showing a lot of stuff that should trade for a 600%+ ROI), but even Astatine was about a 400k profit for a full C2 hold (696scu) vs the 200k or so it was in 4.4. I ran 360scu of Organics from Orison to Lorville for around a 700k profit for 15-20 minutes of "work". I've not stuck around at one place to see what the restock timers are like now, but I'd be surprised if they changed much, which means large sales of high value commodities are still going to be inconvenient. Eta: looks like commodity prices have started stabilizing now that the servers have established supply/demand. The prices seem to be roughly what they were pre-4.4 though, so they're at least not a slap in the face like they were in 4.4 |

Gota toss a bullshit flag on that 20gb graphics mem target. Unless they are aiming at the game to fail. They will aim at making sure the most common of used cards will work. As of 8 days ago Proxus of CIG updated the minimum system requirements. https://support.robertsspaceindustries.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042417374-Star-Citizen-Minimum-System-Requirements Minimum of 4gb, recommended of 8. More always better of course. But no need to be retarded about it. |
|
I've run the game on both 4 and 8 within the past several months, and while it will, technically, run, it runs like ass. It runs decently on 16, even on my older box. Nevertheless, I have absolutely seen talk of 20 being baseline for the 'very high' settings. And if you're building a new computer specifically to play Star Citizen, why the everlasting fuck would you aim it at 'just barely runs'? On the backup laptop I was using, which has a 4gb video card and win11, it was taking stations more than 10 minutes to draw in as of 4.3. It's only getting worse. Running in Linux lowers overhead significantly, of course. |

Thanks, guys I'm sticking with the 5080 for now. Limited poking around didn't find any 20gb that wasn't just astronomical, and I just got burned out with my usual paralysis by analysis. If I get truly hooked and want more performance, I'll consider something down the line. I ran into a hiccup assembling the computer. In this Fractal North, the coolant hoses coming out of the card don't have a tight enough bend radius to not interfere with the radiator fans. Again, paralysis by analysis set in and I just picked up a Corsair 7000D at MicroCenter since there was no way it wouldn't fit and they had it in stock. It will fit everythingggggg. This thing is huge and heavy. But in a good way I suppose. |

Thanks; I considered the offset and vert mount, and just opted for the massive 7000D. My desk is huge (34"x84", 1.75" thick butcher block with a 600lb sit/stand base), and i'll have room to tuck the case to one side a bit behind my monitor. So form factor isn't that big of a deal. Sorry, I agree with the sentiment, but I disagree with the cheapest ship choice. Avenger Titan, hands down. Unfortunately I don’t think you can buy Squadron 42 at the moment. |

The Mustang Alpha, at $45 will get you into a decent starter with a couple of hours of gameplay. Titan is cheap in game. That said, I'm sure many of us have melted SQ42 packages, and new tokens have just been issued. If somebody who has one unmelts it for cash, it's no longer account bound, and can be gifted. Hell, I think I have a couple myself. Send somebody the cash, they unmelt and gift, and viola. PM me if you're interested, and I'll let you know what I've got. Whatever the unmelt is, I don't expect a profit. |

If not, the Titan is $15 off right now, so it's giving them less money if that matters. It also has 24 month insurance as opposed to six, which may or may not matter eventually. It ends on the 12th. Be sure to collect all your free Luminalia stuff too before then, Tex. Some cool FPS guns in there. As to the Mustang Alpha, it's slightly more maneuverable, but the Titan outperforms it in almost every other aspect, the most important being DPS potential, missiles, cargo capacity, and bed logging. Although bed logging won't matter eventually (Soon TM). Maybe that stuff is important to him, maybe not, he'll have to decide. But I started with the Titan, and had a lot more fun and versatility than I would have with the Mustang. If I had to grind again with a starter, I'd want the more capable one. Just my opinion though. |

Like I said, I wouldn't be bumping the price, so it's not like I'm missing out on any money. That would undoubtedly be the best way for him to go, and a nice thing for you to do. And for the naysayers, that's no new money for the company unless he CCUs. If they launch SQ42 at normal AAA prices, he will have basically stolen the game lmao. |

I thought they showed a silhouette of a connie during their big event (Citizencon?) 3 months ago as one of the ships getting a rework in 2026? I'm still debating what changes I want to make to my holdings, I keep leaning towards fewer bigger ships vs a large variety of smaller ones, but also I don't want to be stuck with only capitals and sub-capitals, I need stuff I can play solo. The Connie hopefully will continue to fill that role. |

My favorite bug with the Connie (as of this summer?) was that if you lost a gimbal puck off a lower engine nacelle, you could not replace it yourself. The exact puck that fit those locations were not available for sale. And an insurance claim would give you back the ship missing the puck if you'd flown around with it like that through multiple take-offs/landings. |

I'm currently on my murder hobo story arc spending the next 24 hours in the prison mines. Found a shank and been killing all the new inmates then stealing their ore. Currently my murder stats are outpacing the ore gathering (you turn in ore to get reduced sentence). I suppose I could try to escape but so far this has been the most entertaining part of the game. This game could be pretty fun if they actually put some effort in to it instead of just having a skeleton crew (barely) maintaining an online alpha test. Maybe if Squadron 42 ever gets released they will go back to working on the PU. |

I loved filling the Andromeda's cargo bay so full I couldn't reach the elevator buttons (or breaking them? Maybe?) so I had to run around to the side entrances or elevator and then trying to use the buggy-as-hell upper panel to raise the cargo bay, or just fly home with it dangling down. ![]() Getting the last few boxes on the top level was also a bitch solo. |

I woke up in a space station, the ship was stored in a completely different space station, and all the contracts were gone. I had everything I'd been carrying, as though I'd kicked it in a landing zone. I don't remember if the freight was on board the ship. There've just been too many crashes the past couple of weeks to keep track. Last night, I lost a whole Nyx load to a time out while I was writing an issue report because the cargo elevators are STILL broke, and roughly 3 out of 10 turn ins register all materials turned in but refuse to complete, and they've removed the manual submit button from the supply runs, so all you can do is abandon. Decari pods are easy to find -- On Bloom -- but they take awhile. Schlepping 120 pods all the way from Bloom to New Babbage, particularly with the way the jump gates are(n't) working lately, it a whole lot of work when just shy of half of them get eaten by garbage mechanics. Hell, 60% of the AA cargo runs I'm turning in don't autocomplete every contract, and occasionally you can't manually submit those, either. You'd think CIG would stop creating events that rely on a mechanic that's this broken, but they seem to be leaning into it. In completely unrelated news, the 890 Jump that hasn't been worked on for seven years or so is on sale again for just under $1000. Woo hoo. |

I've been kicking around the idea of getting into this game. Is the ARFCOM group fairly active? any tips, or youtube channels to look into or any other places for background info? |
