Anyone finding these ugly bastards in the house lately.  It's Fall on Long Island ( yeah, I know, it's Fall everywhere )
and we've killed two in the house in the past few days.

These things give me the willies more than spiders.

Tried to kill one the other day and it kept jumping at me.  A half can of Raid fixed his attitude.

Supposedly, they like dark damp areas and feed on cardboard.  I can't find any place in the basement that looks like
it would be attractive to them.

Traps on order

Those bastards are terrible here. Trying to invade our basement. Bifenthrin around the basement doors and I find 3-6 dead within a few feet of the doors each morning. After building the basement was infested with them. Took a few weeks to kill off a couple hundred of them.

You're not really a student of the finer art of underkill, are you?

Smack it with a magazine? Or, dispense a half a can of nerve agent inside the confines of my house?

Mmmm, mmmm, mmm, love me some nerve agent.

Spotted one of those in my basement and had no idea these things existed until I did a google search.

Another gift from China.
I killed two so far. My moccasins kill them good.

I had never ever seen one until a few years ago.  Now they are in our basement.  Were they always in PA?  I’ve lived here my whole life but just started seeing them recently.

I rented a house that had them all underneath in the crawlspace. It was disgusting. I had to crawl under there to fix something and they were everywhere.

I only saw one before. That was last year.  After reading up on them, I read that the U.N.C in 2014. found that most of them showing up were Asian Spider Crickets.

Cute little critters,  I've got wolf spiders, occasional mouse trying to come in from the cold, even a jumping spider last week, never seen a cricket spider.

A bright flashlight will blind them so you can stomp them. I find it a challenge to smash them with my cane!

My last house had hundreds of those in the basement year round. My lab loved eating them.

Get some native lizards around your house and they will have a buffet.

A cordless vacuum for creepy crawlies, I think the dust inside kills them.
I leave spider webs alone generally, they get to eat any mosquitos they catch.

Saw them in my grandparents basement for decades, so if they're not native, they've been here a while. About a decade ago my dad had an exterminator take care of it. Exterminator told him the only place he sees them are in this line of hills between Berks and Lancaster.
