| In the 30+ years I was in and out of court, I never saw it get that bad with an attorney - not even a criminal defendant, really, although I did see a few of those lose their shit and end up in cuffs. But man, there's nothing better than standing there in front of a judge and watching your opponent melt down. You know you don't even have to say anything - just don't get in the way of the self-destruct that's going on. It's glorious. |

| In my entire career, I’ve never seen or even heard of someone losing their mind like that. A few years ago we had a district court judge who used to ask criminal defendants when was the last time they had used illegal drugs, during bond hearings. A defense attorney advised his client not to answer under the fifth amendment. The judge threatened to hold the attorney in contempt, and after a CALM standoff, the judge had the attorney arrested and taken to jail. Within hours the Supreme Court stepped in and bitch slapped the judge who was already aged out and coasting to retirement. Even that attorney, who was being arrested and put in jail despite the fact that he was 100% in the right didn’t lose his shit. This does not reflect on the legal profession. It’s a reflection of just how mentally ill transgender people are. |
| The bigger issue is that minority/special interest groups are living in their own bubble. That video will be shown proudly by the attorney as an example of transphobia in action, and all of the trans community will nod and agree and say how awful it was. In the end the attorney will have gotten what he wanted - notoriety, reaffirmation from his social circles, and a delay in the proceedings against his client. |

I can’t imagine any scenario in which that attorney doesn’t get a suspension. This directly impacts and has an unquestionable bearing on her fitness to practice law. If she can’t keep it together in court over such mundane matters, she should be doing something else. Quoted: Would the suspension come from the state bar or the local court? If it's just from the local Court, then I could see them taking the hit. If it's from the State Bar, I could also see the bar not suspending them due to their status as trans. Quoted: I know quite a few trans people.
