Starting yesterday (which seems to coincide with an update to Chrome) almost every time I open a thread it crashes my phone browser (Chrome on Android). It's been working fine on my laptop, and I can open the forum fine, it's just when I open a thread that it happens. I've tried restarting Chrome and the phone, clearing cache, and I'm installing Firefox now to see if it still does it. This is the only site I've had it happening on, though, so just thought I'd check to see if anyone else is experiencing this, was able to fix it, or if it's just me.
Update: it seems to work fine on Firefox for Android, but I'm not a big fan of that browser because it seems to run pretty slow for me. I'll try installing Chrome on my laptop and see if it has the same issue as the mobile version. Update 2: It seems to work fine on Chrome on my laptop, too. ETA: I'm Running it on a Samsung S7, Android 8.0.0, Chrome 68.0.3440.85 Sounds like it's an issue with the new version of Chrome on Android. Hopefully they'll do another update soon. |

What version you guys running? I'm running 68.0.3440.85 on my N8 with no issues.

Started happening yesterday for me too. Not just this site but this site is particularly bad. Sometimes have to reload a thread 3-4 times to read it (each page).

I only use chrome in my phone. I was having this issue a couple of weeks ago but it's running fine now.
S8+ user Reboot, clear cache, reinstall app, etc |
Works fine for me, running Chrome 67.0.3396.87 on a Pixel 2 with Android 8.1 "O".
Sounds like it may be a Chrome 68 bug. |
Chrome for Android, Version 67.0.3396.87 working fine here. Chrome for Windows just updated to Version 68.0.3440.84, which is also working fine here.

Same issues here as well.
Cleared cache and restarted. It's still happening. |

My S7 updated yesterday - immediately started getting 'oops, page failed to load' errors. Cleared cache and then just hit reload several times, sometimes I had to back out of trying to read a specific thread and then go back and do the reload thing. It's getting better. Pretty sure it has to do with cache data, but just clearing it didn't seem to fix it.

Problem started for me this morning after an update too. Interestingly, the main site will not load. The "backdoor" works just fine.

Same issue, allot of pages are crashing while trying to load... Chrome and Android
The Android updated pushed in the last 24 hours borked your phone. Especially with Chrome.
Screwed up for me after this android update. downloaded firefox just now to get my fix. chrome says aw snap...
Having the same issue. Crashing and having to reload. "Oh snap"
I've found that opening a new tab in incognito mode works fine. No crashing. This is f'ing annoying. |
I had this same pages not loading issue.
Cured it by uninstalling updates from Chrome. Go to settings>apps and there is an option to uninstall updates at the bottom. Use it. Maybe it'll work for you, too. |
I uninstalled chrome updates. We shall see what happens.
Android here. |

first thing I did on my phone was install firefox instead of chrome.
Can't avoid chrome entirely as it's used for system processes... But I avoid using any OS's default browser.... |
I installed Brave Browser because I also started having this problem with Chrome.

Me too, with the same phone. Switched to firefox. View Quote On topic, I checked. Chrome works fine with the site on my Galaxy S7 Edge. Edit: I'm retarded, I haven't updated Chrome in forever (turned off auto updates for everything because they'd decide to update themselves and slow down my phone at the most inconvenient times)... I thought y'all were talking about the new Android update |

Downloaded Chrome Beta, zero issues. Good temporary fix for mobile and desktop. Downloaded Chrome Dev but haven't bothered to try.

same issue here, I own 2 S7 and my personal one has been doing it for a few weeks. My work one started after the latest software update on friday.
installed Firefox good to go. |
It's a thing with the s7, the ios security update has bugged my messages app, and the chrome update has screwed that up for me.
Turn off automatic updates and uninstall all updates for chrome, its the only thing that worked for me. |
It's not all threads for me. When I come across one that doesn't work I do a long press to open in a new tab

It's getting worse on my S7. AR15 is basically unusable from my phone. For a while a few reloads and it would eventually work, but its getting worse. I've cleared cache a couple of times, restarted the phone.
I wonder if I have to uninstall chrome and re-install it. I'm terrible about passwords so re-logging in to every thing is going to suck. I'd switch browsers but I like chrome on the tablet and the Mac. I like having everything available across platforms. |
Sure would be nice if someone from site staff would chime in so we know what side the issue is on.
