I thought it was okay, given the flaming dumpster fire that The Last Jedi was. There's only so much you can do to fix that; even if you put the fire out you still have smoking garbage.

The plot was a mess, but that's what happens when you don't have directorial continuity and the second guy basically says "Ha ha! I piss on all you create! And now for something completely different!"

I liked it but I'm not a big Star Wars fan and I knew it wasn't going to be a Fellini film going in.  The visuals are pretty neat.

I didn't hate it but it wasn't good. I absolutely hated The Last Jedi. So there's that.

He bought Star Wars for 4 billion dollars and let Cocaine Kennedy run the show.

Cocaine Kennedy decided to take that 4 billion and couldn't even be bothered to have a 3 movie story.

ONE OF IF NOT THE LARGEST MEDIA PURCHASES IN HISTORY DID NOT HAVE A PLAN FOR THE MOVIES THEY JUST BOUGHT BEFORE THEY STARTED FILMING.

They took the ideas of they guy who literally made the god damn films and shitcanned em.

They proceeded to make a serviceable if not stellar 1st round movie which was fine after the shit show that was the prequels.  All people wanted was a fun Space Adventure.  Cocaine Kennedy then shat out another forgettable movie that would have bombed had it not been for the last 30 minutes.  But still, things are looking okay. Then Cocaine Kennedy gave the ENTIRE FRANCHISE WHICH AT THIS POINT STILL DID NOT HAVE A COMPLETE STORY TO ONE GUY WHO PROCEEDED TO TAKE A TAPEWORM FILLED SHIT ALL OVER THE SOURCE MATERIAL and leave the story stranded going what the fuck.

They didn't even have the balls to follow up on some of the ACTUALLY VERY FUCKING INTERESTING concepts that they introduced in that movie like:

Luke feeling skeptical of Jedi upon learning their history
Rey joining with Kylo Ren to end the conflict
Kylo Ren having a great fucking reason to be pissed at Luke
A former Stormtrooper sacrificing himself for the Rebels

ANY of which would have been GREAT had they actually followed up on them instead of pulling the carpet out from under us at the end of the film.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to overstate how thoroughly and totally Last Jedi killed the sequel trilogy.

Every single Star Wars movie that came out afterwards failed to make expectations and Solo even LOST money.

Disney is filled with some of the stupidest motherfuckers on the planet.  They spent all this money and didn't even have a 3 movie plan and gave total control to someone without so much as an outline.

If THOSE are the kinds of decisions they are going to make they are FUCKED with this whole covid 19 hullabaloo.  Beyond their Star Wars failings, their Marvel Franchise has peaked after Endgame.  Pixar's quality has declined.  Their live action remakes are getting old.  Their 4 billion dollar purchase is dead outside of the Mandalorian but they'll probably fuck that up too.

Kids don't want to get lectured about bullshit.  They want to have fun and imagine themselves as these heroes.  Go watch anything post endgame and tell me what hero you would have wanted to be if you were a kid.  Tell me which live action film you would have watched over and over again.  Or better yet, without googling it, tell me what the name of either brother is in the movie Onward.

Disney has totally and irreparably squandered Star Wars, sucked the life out of its older movies, and killed Pixar's creativity.

They're fucked.

But in the future they're going to be a has been.  They got overconfident in themselves while other people (Jon Favreau) built their media empire and didn't even realize it until it was too late.

Their park attendance will decline.  Their movies will make less money, and Disney Plus will be all that's left of them.

I know the guy was handed a complete shit sandwich with Iger's meddling and TLJ but there's no redeeming quality to Rise of Skywalker whatsoever. At least TLJ had a nice high speed suicide attack.

You have to die for it to be a suicide.  Would have been a fitting end for Finn's character.

It was bad, really bad... The only Star Wars movies worth watching are the originals. It's sad to see them butcher such a classic trilogy. I wish I hadn't seen any of the sequels or prequels. It kinda ruined Star Wars for me...

I didn't hate it.  But I don't remember much about it.  The blandest and least memorable of the three.

I told you not to watch it.

It was pretty bad.

Not as bad as the last one with purple hair shitstain and gravity bombers in space, but bad.

I saw it in the theater hoping for it to be better. Ended up saying, "This is fucking stupid..." near the end, and when Rey kills the emperor like a little bitch because you know she is the shit and a bowl of piss, most powerful being ever because she is a girl, good at everything and everyone just loves her. Other people started laughing. The climactic battle was honestly that ridiculous and stupid.

They really went out of their way to fucking ruin Star Wars and it would do them good to say that none of the last three movies were canon, but they won't.

I just don't give a shit about any of the new characters.

But we do need a prequel to see how Rey came about... LOL.

It taught me that I can watch a soap opera if the special effects are good enough.

Watch The Clone Wars animated series on Disney Plus. That wasn't actually made by Disney and therefor is actually good. Even the few episodes now coming out after Disney bought the franchise are being made by the same people who made it before, and it really shows in the quality writing.

Edit: As far as the movies, the writing is atrocious (because Disney ruins everything it touches). But it can be enjoyable if you're willing to turn your brain off and just enjoy cool looking scenes.

I'm sure I've seen Star Wars, but I can never remember if the next one was Empire Strikes Back or Return to the Jedi.
