The Senate bill to reopen the government and included funding the wall failed to advance forward. It needed 60 ayes but failed with a recorded vote of: Yes-51 and No-47
Republicans Cotton and Lee voted no. Debate is now closed and bill marked dead. Next up is the vote to advance the plan to reopen the government through 2/8 with zero wall funding. |

Every no voter should be strung up for treason. They are welcoming in the next 9-11 with open arms, having an open border.
|
|
After all this, why would republicans fold now? They should finally get tired and say "screw it- the left and the media are going to hate us regardless".
|
|
The government is still open enough to try to topple other countries, currently Venezuela. Sounds like one of those junkware programs that doesn’t really shut down, you have to turn the computer off and go into recovery mode

|
Anyone know what's up with the Lee vote?
He is one of about 4 Senators that I actually don't hate. |
|
Second bill looks to be dead as well with Yes 50 and no 44
Romney voted yes |

If Trump is going to use the national emergency route he should do it very soon. Congress has made their statement that they are not going to give him the funding, and he gets no benefit by dragging this out any more.

How is this a dupe?
|
|
Looks like they are calling the bill dead at 52 Yes to 44 No.
Welp, time for the Senate to head home for a 3 Day Weekend. |

They will have a federal court injunction INSTANTANEOUSLY to stop that and everything goes on as per normal.

Our government might be the most incompetent in the history of US politics. These people are elected officials doing absolutely nothing.
Fuck them all. |

Remind me again how it is Trump's fault that congress can't pass a bill?

Ok then....take it to the SC. Meanwhile.....government shut down continues. View Quote Democrats are showing some fraying on this. Us MAGA's said he needed to get it on, so now it's on. He needs to win and getting slapped down in the courts or dragging out the shutdown while the appeals process grinds on does not strike me as a win. |

Both sides consider it politically advantageous to maintain the stalemate.
As soon as either side thinks it's to their advantage to end the stalemate, the stalemate will end. An impasse requires two parties. |

Sen. Graham speaking now, just got off the phone with the President and said Trump is willing to go for a 3 week CR.
Cocaine Mitch and Schumer are meeting one on one to hammer that out. So, the Senate can't leave just yet. |

I’m ok with burning this madafakn place down.
If Mittens voted for it, you know it’s bad. |

Absolutely wrong and nothing could be further from the truth. He has to wait this out until democrats cave and take this bullshit "shutdown card" out of their hand forever or it will be used against him and Republicans over and over and over again for the next 100 yeas. View Quote 1995 Shutdown This isn't the first time it's been used and it won't be the last. Unless there is legislation that takes the option off the table, both sides will pull this at some point again. Stop with the partisan hyperbole - it doesn't get us any closer to a solution. |
