Contemplating selling my Scar 16 SBR and buying an SR15. What are my options as far as selling an SBR?

Its just like if u were to buy 1.  The person has to submit the paperwork, pay you, and you sit on it and the $ till their form is approved. Once it is, ship it to them (id do it through an FFL just to make sure it gets there).

Could it be disassembled and shipped to them, since it wasnt a factory SBR?

Once it’s removed from the registry and the barrel is removed, the ATF shouldn't care.

You could return it to 16" or 14.5" P&W and then send the ATF an email letting them know it has been returned to a standard rifle. Just give them the serial and wait for them to mail you a letter saying it has been removed from the NFA database.

One part is going to be the firearm.

This isn't correct, unless it is within the same state and there is no state law against the transfer without using a FFL.

If going out of state, it must go through a FFL. It will transfer to the FFL and that FFL will hold it. You get ALL the cash before the transfer to the FFL. The only way you do a partial is if it is a FTF transfer.

Transfer via a single Form 4 to a resident of your state.
Transfer via a Form 4 to a FFL, who transfers via a second Form 4 to the buyer.

Or reassemble into Title I configuration as a rifle. ATF asks that you notify them so they can make a notation in the NFA Registry that the firearm is no longer in SBR configuration. (it is not erased/removed/deleted from the registry ever.....just noted)

"factory SBR" transfers exactly the same as a Form 1 SBR.

Yet they do.
Disassemble and ship the receiver, bbl, stock, parts to the buyer.........its still an SBR.
