I don’t really follow a recipe but this is pretty much what I do.

2 cups self rising flour
Golf ball sized chunk of shortening
1 cup buttermilk

Cut shortening into flour then stir in buttermilk just until combined.  Roll out on floured surface 3/4” thick.
Cut biscuits and bake in cast iron skillet at 450 until brown.

Brown 1/2 lb of your favorite breakfast sausage then add a golf ball size hunk of shortening.  Add a handful of APF
And stir for a bit.  Add whole milk and stir until desired thickness.  Add a boatload of black pepper. Prepare to be amazed!

LOL!  I saw this biscuit pan at an estate sale the other and said to myself, Self, you need that pan in your life.

Excellent, I made country fried steak last night for dinner and have some leftover country gravy, so biscuits are needed for breakfast tomorrow.  No self rising flour here, but I think I can manage.

Of course, everyone knows the Afghanis invented biscuits and gravy.  Serious answer, start a thread on it.

I use bacon fat instead of shortening, but other than that.....yep LOTS of fresh ground pepper!!!  Whole milk FTW.
