I feel like companies and people should be forced to stay in the hell hole they helped create.

Curious if any new stores have moved in? At one time SF had like 50 Starbucks. I wonder how many now?

While I despise that place and most who inhabit it; I think that construction needs to be required to complete or demolish, by law. Its shit to have some unfinished skeleton just sitting around attracting homeless, crime, lack of upkeep, structural integrity, etc...
Again, I give no shits about that place but, I don;t like the precedent that it could happen where I live. |

Oh well. I am waiting for stonestown to close down as well....

A lot of those places sell useless crap anyway, might as well be pier 1 imports. No loss.

They can add it to the failure tour thru the sea of For Lease signs and vagrants
Seriously they have a tour. https://abc7news.com/san-francisco-doom-loop-walking-tour-worst-areas-of-sf-city-hall/13625886/#:~:text=Participants%20in%20the%20%22Downtown%20Doom,to%20be%201.5%20miles%20long. |

It's a blight on the city, but since it's San Francisco, no one will probably notice. Parts of the Bay area looks like a demilitarized zone anyway. |

And amazingly it is claimed they are gate kept for the good jobs to mostly white folks…..albeit gender fluid ones. |

complete it. do the reparations thing and the recipients can live there. and perhaps let the homeless folks live there too.

View Quote Very appropriate. Completely sucks. SF used to be one of the coolest US cities to visit. Now it is a crackhead and turd farm. |

They would halt construction and foreclose only to have the devoloper buy it for “cash” and start the whole process over. 15 years it’s been an empty shell, right on the downtown strip. https://cvillepedia.org/Dewberry_Hotel |

“downturn started with the pandemic”
Um, or those riots and stuff. |

They should complete it and move all the homeless in. Those people will immediately become productive and the city will thrive again.
Win-win. |

It was such an amazing city at one time. I'm glad I got to see it before it turned into a massive, violent, chaos-toilet.

It’s so exciting when we hate other American cities together like this.

I moved to Louisa County in 2010, and it was an issue before I arrived. The upside is that when the new denser zoning ordinances get passed, the Dewberry won't look so out of place. |

You get what you vote for. Imagine that???
My liberal nephew and his family moved to a town out of Frisco because of cost. I’m sure the crime isn’t helping either. Sucks for the few non woke working class trying to stay there. |

Looks like the whole damned city has Accelerated Inverse Development Syndrome.
