I contact their CS and was told I needed to clean up the inletting. That didn't work, so I contacted them again and asked them to send me some longer bolts and was told they wouldn't send me them because the stock would not fit a X39. So I found some bolts one size longer than the ones that come with the stock and attached it without any problem. Then I discovered that rounds would not feed correctly from three different band of X39 AR mags.  I thought about making them take it back, but decided to keep it to put on a 5.56 or 6.5G Ranch. I was so stoked that magpul was finally shipping these but they are already out of OD Green and claim via customer service that they won't have more until end of April. Tell me if I'm missing something here. Will the magpul stock for a ruger American short action work for my 5.56. And then can I just change the magwell to the 5.56 stanag configuration. It looks like it is about a 70.00 part. I'm tired of waiting. Thanks in advance. Edited to add... How well does magpul stock material paint? I'm talking just rattle can not anything fancy. |

no problem Attached File I had mine finished with their standard finish, but that just made my life harder. I didn't care for that finish at all, glossy and thick. As it's sits, tung oil followed by Ballistol I also chopped the LOP a fair bit, so I'd just take the "free" option there. Their recoil pad sanded nicely |

Rattle can is drying now.Attached File Attached File I did the JB bore paste trick on the bolt, but also polished the bolt itself with 600 grit sandpaper; made a difference even over the JB. Timney trigger No name Amazon stock pouch YHM Phantom Titanium 5.56 can (will be replaced by a Witt Machine Canooter valve) Leupold VX3i 2.5-8 in vortex rings It’s about the perfect truck gun for the east side of MT. With the GI 20 in the gun, and one more in the pouch, it carries enough ammo for any known issues that could pop up on a little walkabout. |

@peacematu It made a significant difference. The 600 grit made more difference in running it with a loaded mag, live. The JB did not do much with the various cuts in the body of the bolt for feeding from the magazine. Using the 600 grit took the edge off of those cuts. It is too fine to take out some of the machining marks, but I wasn’t looking to relieve a bunch of material, just smoothen. Between the two, the bolt feels very nice. It’s hard to quantify, but it doesn’t feel as hitchy and cheap when cycling. |

Finally have a 556 Ranch on the way as of today. Also have a 223 Rem 700 SPS Tactical on the way as well, as of yesterday. Ordered the SPS because I got tired of trying to find a Ruger Ranch for the last year or so. As is typical with my luck, the Ranch became available today, so in proper ARF form, I'm getting both... I guess I'll shoot them both and decide which one works best for me, or perhaps keep both because.....reasons The SPS cost about $250 more than the Ranch. I doubt if I'll get that extra $250 worth of enjoyment over the Ranch after keeping up with this thread. Both will be running suppressors |

Had some great fun with my 5.56 today. Was hitting the 200 yard gong every time with open sights. Running the bolt and hitting steel rapid fire is the tits. With a 1-6 scope mounted she will do under 1” all day long at 100 yards. Also shot some subsonics i worked up and with the suppressor it was quieter than some pellet rifles i have shot. 1” group at 50 yards and 55 grains at 1050 fps. Can’t wait to small game hunt with it. Really considering getting one in 6.5 grendel. |

Filed off the rearmost slot of the scope rail to allow enough downward adjustment. |

I wished I’d known about the Engineered Silence 1913 adapter earlier. I have a KNS adapter that’s been cut to basically be the same thing. |
