Last weekend, the dirtbags started in a park a few blocks from this one. This weekend, they are starting in Jamison Square, which is a nice place to gather. It's got a fountain that kids play in during the summer. It's right in the heart of the very nice Pearl District.

They've been in the Pearl before - the Mayor's former townhouse is there, but kind of on the outskirts of the neighborhood's residential and higher end shopping. Now, they are right in the middle. The folks I know there have commented that when they have gathered in Jamison before, it's been on Saturday at noon, and was generally peaceful and well received. Now, they are assembling at night, wearing black.

Last weekend, the police were not out because they were dealing with the impact of less cops and more people getting into altercations requiring intervention from armed social workers.

Anyhow, this is the current plan for the weekend:

From the apartment manager:

This notice was received by xxx  Board and xxx Management and the Board is determining appropriate actions in response to this upcoming demonstration. The demonstration will assemble in Jamison Square Park about 8 PM, Friday evening.  It is our understanding that the purpose of the demonstration is to damage businesses.  

We ask that everyone remain alert and vigilant by doing the following:
Limit your access and egress to the main entrance.
Limit any activity from the garage during this time.
If you do need to enter/leave the building during this time, please exercise extra vigilance to make sure no unauthorized entry occurs.
Avoid parking cars on neighborhood streets.
Avoid using your balcony during this time.
Discourage any food deliveries or visitors beginning at 7:00PM.
We are told the Portland Police may have a presence in the Pearl District. It will be important to be alert and observe your surroundings. The demonstrators have been known to retaliate if you shout at them or take videos/photos.
