If the African disturbances of the later 20th century have taught me one thing, it's that the competency, extent of training, and excellence of arms of the minority population, regardless of how capable they are, is utterly irrelevant in the end. And if anything, it amplifies and incurs envy and hatred of the barbarous majority population.
It's a very depressing lesson. |

My wife had a chip in her windshield and Safelite sent a guy out to fix it. I was in garage when he showed up, her Explorer was out front.
I came up and she said that the guy was here to fix the windshield. I looked out and "I'll be damned". She said what is it? I said "He's from Rhodesia." She said how can you tell? "By the way he's dressed." He had on the classic short shorts, shirt with pockets and epaulettes and hiking boots. I went out to talk to him and sure enough he had the accent. He said that his family was ran out of their homes and came to America. He said that other families he had known as a kid were killed when they tried to resist. |

I am all about the cool gun photos and stuff but the more you read about social policies in Rhodesia, the more you realize how fucked over the native population was.
Of course what Mugabe has done is arguably worse for everyone. |
