Quoted: Wow. He earned that one. His problem was that he wanted to be in charge of the encounter. But he was outnumbered and more CPD was arriving by the minute. That's how you get your ass kicked by the Police. For the record I have been in the same position. Stopped by uniformed police while doing my job out of uniform. The rule for surviving that one is to smile like an idiot and do exactly what they say until everyone is more or less safe. You can explain everything later. It's only an unpleasant experience if you fight it. It's not like I was worried about going to jail. It does take a second for it to register that they're going to shoot you if you don't do what they say. And some times officers shout conflicting commands as everyone tries to be in charge. And you can smell the adrenaline for miles. View Quote "It does take a second for it to register that they're going to shoot you if you don't do what they say. And experienced by every. single. client an officer draws his gun on, which is a very frequent occurrence. Can't help but wonder if perhaps officers should be subjected to that experience more during or after training? |

While I love the fact that, that agent who is also a thief got to ride the lighting, the initial officer was way to high strung. He gave commands, then asked questions, then didn’t let him answer. You can see him shaking. He never gave the toolbag a chance to identify himself. The escalation was by the initial officer. The arriving 2nd officer was working off of what the primary officer was yelling when he arrived making things seem far more tense than they really were.

It's like his brain couldn't work out that he wasn't in charge. What kind of fucking tool keeps his creds in his pocket while working ? Apparently people are just supposed to SMELL your authority. |

Those cops were out of control. I don't really care who it was. What was the purpose of immediately drawing gun and yelling get on ground? A weapon wasn't drawn nor was there an apparent threat.

The pistol was the ATF agent's - an officer finally secured it.

A weapon wasn't drawn nor was there an apparent threat. View Quote The original thread about this was how the homeowner called 911 to say a man with a gun was trying to break into her home. An arriving officer finds a man at the same home of the door, ordering him at gunpoint to get on the ground is appropriate given the information the officer had at the time. |

Someone needs to make the ATF moral patch with "please see my creds!" text printed on the bottom.

View Quote I've found that when you're at gun point it's a rotten time to try to discuss the finer points of arrest procedures. The federal cop needs mental evaluations and to be dismissed - regardless of the original charges. The fed is an asshole's asshole. |
