Not an ultralite pilot, and I don't own one of these radios (I have a Yaesu), but this looks very compelling because it is the only one I'm aware of with built-in headset jacks. No adapters or other stuff required.

Yes, that's what I had in mind....Honestly, I didn't think about checking the obvious suppliers; I was on Amazon and thought "I need a little hand-held" but too many choices from too many vendors, usually ends up with the wrong one.

When I was using a handheld as a primary comm, I had to use an adapter to use a headset. It was a bit of a pain to hook up every time (as was the push to talk button). It seems that Sportys has their own model that will accept headset jacks without an adapter. It may be worth checking out.

Adapters suck and apply strain to already sensitive and small components leading to failure and aggravation at most inopportune times.
