An 1895 6mm Navy Lee, the straight-pull one. I have never even seen a military model-- there are a couple of sporting models with burnt throats that make the rounds of the local gun shows (or did when there were gun shows), with the price going up every time they change hands--

A pickelhaube. Infantry with the spike.
When I was a kid my cousin's next door neighbor was an old WW1 vet. He had a bunch of militaria scattered around his garage where we often played. Among all that stuff was a spiked pickelhaube. We would hold it on our heads, run and try to ram/stick the spike into the cardboard boxes he had stacked around. That old pickelhaube got pretty well beat up. It would probably be worth a fortune now. |
